Sundog - What is the cyclic ? Have you been playing with moulds and alloys ? looks like you have a Komodo collective ?
EvilIvan i like your idea, hows the throw and does it give you good minute adjustments if you need ?
Cib - I like your collective handle and the base for your joystick looks interesting , what was it from, or did you build it especially for the joystick ?

Re: Want to see your setup
Joystick base is a christmas tree holder. Has clamps to hold the trunk. Used some old bed post and angled shelf brackets to fashion a table to mount the joystick too

Re: Want to see your setup
Thanks Cib, the tree stand is a great idea, so with aprox 5 kgs of weight of water is it a heavy base ?

Re: Want to see your setup
No water, its quite substantial without it, joystick less weight than a tree . Sand could be a help but mine does not move at all though it stands on a rubber mat too

Inspired by the 'Evil' collective.....
Sitting out on the patio, in the sun on Sunday, lazily thinking of some of you poor sods in the cold, I eyed across the top of my large glass of red, very drinkable plonk (€0.75 / $0.82 / £0.58 a bottle) an old broken part of a foot stool for a an aluminium beach chair - you know the cheap stuff made by the trillion in China... and had a Eureka moment.
20 minutes later, a hacksaw, 3 cable ties, a 3" rubber padding cut from an old bicycle inner tube and an old bicycle handlebar grip came up with this....
Seems to work okay, more control on the collective, and all the switches on both throttles are easily accessible, - just got to get used to flying with it haha...
The grey plastic clip makes it handy but any right angle bend would do...

Re: Want to see your setup
I am NOT saying this is particularly good in the slightest however it is easy to fit, non-destructive and I have a spare corner, tubing, handlebar end and even cable ties knocking about [ ]
Can post Spain any time, for the UK or Netherlands (or pick up Eindhoven) I will be up that way in around 10 days or so as - of course there is no charge as the postage should be minimal.
If you have a TMWH throttle and want it, just let me know 'cause the good lady will soon be saying its in the way then it's the bin!

That's ingenious , is the warthog extension home made too or bought. Going to have a look on desktop as my phone is not big enough to see the details

Nah, not home made, the only tool I ever mastered in engineering was the 2lb Ball hammer!
Bought from wasyl00 when he first made a batch up...

Re: Want to see your setup
What height is your joystick extension? I have been looking at these ones probably in the 7.5cm size
http://warthog-extensions-by-sahaj.com/shop/standard-7-5-cm-extension/
or make one of these
http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=153088
I really liked the idea of using the warthog throttle for collective but could not see a way of doing it that would preclude any hacksaws and hammers. Your way seems a very good compromise, I do like my set up using Strutt and Hawkeyes method with an old X52 but would imagine the precision of warthog would be a better bet
Thanks for the idea

...that's what I've got. In all honesty, it is a lot of money for what it is (and the one Gizzy has looks much better made), but it is a sellers market and I'm quite happy with mine.

Re: Want to see your setup
So here’s my Custom made Warthog Joy stick extension—approximately 4 ½ “ or 11.5cm:
All it took was:
I’ve had in use for about 4 month’s with NO issues. Rock steady.
and another view installed:
I have Items list and more pics if you are interested.
All it took was:
• Copper tubing
• Reducers (all copper)
• A Gardenea Hose coupling
• An old PC2 cable ( old keyboard cable cut & Spliced for a 6” Cable)
• A bit of soldering (tubing) and splicing of small wires
• Polishing and some thoughts....... and approx $25.oo--30.oo US
I’ve had in use for about 4 month’s with NO issues. Rock steady.

Re: Want to see your setup
I will pick your brains later but if you could list part numbers for the Gardena connectors I will check Amazon.
How hard is it to splice the cables ?
Why the reduction of pipe diameter.
In fact start again video it and upload to youtube
