Re: Want to see your setup
Thought id just add that i ordered these today, i believe that they would be my last ever purchase of a set of pedals because they are bloody well made and robust and are very adjustable :

Re: Want to see your setup
Nice Highway, looks like a panny 58ax800, I just got one also!
Strut, I tried to order those pedals last month and the guy claimed he's not making more until Q1 next year - did you still get a pair?

You'll love it Morgue! I was planning on the 58, but my wife told me I should get the 65 instead!

Strut, if you are so inclined and not hurting for cash - Milan is persuadable to make you pedals sooner....
I have a set coming here in a few days.
65" Highway!? Dang, I'm jealous...I'm in love with the 58 - moreso than I expected and now I wouldn't mind the larger one

Re: Want to see your setup
Maybe, maybe not, he moved on another $100usd which isn't a lot in my current situation - it might be for others. I have a feeling they're as good as the reviews claim so I don't mind the additional cost if it supports the guy. Big times for DCS coming quick so I can justify it rather than waiting =)

Re: Want to see your setup
G'day men.
Thanks for all the welcome messages.
Thought I would post here to say hello.
So it started as a racing pit.
I was spending so much time racing I was getting a sore butt.
Then I realise I can drive a real car for 6 hours pain free so I decided to make the pit around a car seat.
Had some dimensions that I couldnt exceed due to transport for network weekends.
Then i added 2 more screens and some removable swing arms for the HOTAS
Then iPad App and button boxes from Derek Speares Design
http://www.derekspearedesigns.com/track-boss.html
and want to grab the P2 handy for radio tuning etc.
http://www.derekspearedesigns.com/p1p2.html
Always under construction.

Re: Want to see your setup
Ah, yes. You are really in for a treat, Xtra! You have some nice hardware, and I can especially recommend the GT 970 video card.
End of last year, I went from running DCS on laptop to a brand new gaming Desktop. The difference was amazing:
- Laptop: DCS on the lowest settings for a measly average 15-20 FPS (if it got really intense it sometimes dropped to 5-8 FPS!)
- New Desktop: DCS on highest possible settings for a consistent 60+ FPS (technically I can pull bigger numbers than 60 FPS but I found in DCS I have to put on VSync otherwise I get screen tearing)
It greatly improved my virtual flying skills as the better frames allowed me to be more precise and react quicker. Also having excellent graphics was nice. Just a better experience all round.

Re: Want to see your setup
Thanks Cib
Here's the details...
I bought all the bits in B&Q.
2x wood screws
4x washers
1x bracket
1x metal tubing (shower curtain rail, I think)
I took out two of the three screws on the inside of the right throttle control and replaced them with two screws that had (roughly...) the same thread and diameter - the ones I found were wood screws, so I had to trim them to make them 1cm longer than the existing screws. See pic:
I had to cut the bracket to fit around the moulding - just sliced it off with a hacksaw and filed down the edges to smooth them off. I have used a washer both inside and outside the bracket. See pic:
The pipe is held on using two bolts. See pic:
...only thing I might change (so far, only been using it for 5 mins...) is possibly using a plastic pipe - I might put another control unit on the end of the collective, and if so I want to keep weight down.
Enjoy and good luck
Ivan

Re: Want to see your setup
Started a thread because I could not find this one. However....
Been busy this afternoon, the results are below
The collective
The base is made from a Christmas tree holder, an old piece of Alloy pipe and some old shelf brackets
Total cost £2.39 for 10 self tappers
