I went with the 55" tv and can use native 1920x1080. So not terrible.  Anyways, pic is included. Gonna re-arrange my corner this weekend... Make it more user friendly.

Nice indeed do you fly with your stick on the right or do you centre it . I have just started using our 40 " led I had to squeeze the resolution slightly so I can see all my desktop and the SIM looks a little PlayStation2 but the size really makes up for it. It's like being in a chopper now size wise

Were the edges of your Desktop off the edge of the screen? If so, it could just be that the TV is underscanning - which should be something you can tweak in the TV's settings, and you shouldn't need to mess with the resolution to solve it (you should get a better graphical outcome as a result).

I had just forgotten to change resolution from my other screen which was at 1900x1200. The native res for the tv is 1920x1080. That is why the screen in the pic is cut off slightly. I took this pic before I went into the options and changed it to the native of the tv and all worked well. Flew last night and it was incredible. Lifesize, definitely makes you feel like your in the seat.

I like the idea of using a TV as a monitor. Are all modern TVs equiped with a VGA port (is that the term?)? What do I need to look for in a TV to be able to use it as a monitor?

You can just plug in a HDMI cable Razor. Respondstime might be the thing to watch. Some TVs also support a "game" mode for consoles where they increase this timing and some other magic. Still DCS is not that critical for ghosting as a FPS.

The 970 Titanium card i have has an HDMI cable slot, so i used a Monster HDMI cord and it works great. You can use DVI also, but i find that the HDMI cable gives me better quality and its smooth playing. Provided, your tv has a DVI port.

HDMI cables are better for higher resolution monitors while Mini Display port is best suited for 2k. DVI is seriously outdated, but the quality is exactly the same as HDMI (hardware depending). If you can, use a mini display port cable, its superior to HDMI.
