Re: Want to see your setup
Six, have you been able to use the any of your saitek panels and screens with DCS?

Re: Want to see your setup
I could if i could get Helios to work. There is another program a guy is working on for exporting gauges that i will use. I also have to use another program that lets me use four of my saitek panels to display gauges. I am just waiting on the guy to finish the gauge program. What i plain on doing in my conversion from FSX to DCS is to move 2 of those small monitors to the middle and move the four remaining gauges that i can use for DCS to the left. Then I want to put in a 6 inch monitor to use as an MFD. This will give me 4 steam guages and one large MFD. something like this http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/AWA1/301-400/walk338_MH-60L/images_Everett_McEwan/06_cockpit_2.JPG I am a ways off from that project yet. I am going to build a new functioning collective head next and a new generic overhead switch panel.

Re: Want to see your setup
Nef and I were chatting about it this morning...I promised him I'd throw up some pics of my "Franken-HOTAS"...
----------
The old rig...served me well for years...in the garage about to become firewood (just could NOT stand the side stick setup one more minute).
----------
Lots of wood, screws, etc, later....viola! "Franken-HOTAS"!
----------
----------
I love the center joystick now! Like I was telling Nef, when I met the lovely Mrs. BBall, she was building furniture as a side job (she was bartending when we met...go figure), and she knows her way around a woodshop better than most men. She ALWAYS gives a good laugh when she sees one of my woodworking "projects"! lol...
later all,

Update.
built the lower console yesterday. Removed most of the old roger dodger PCP stuff. Still needs paint, and i did not put in the FSX radio panel.

(HHC/229) GunfighterSIX wrote:This is my setup. Its still mainly and FSX cockpit, but i have been working to convert and rebuild it to DCS. I still have plains to build a new collective head, rebuild and replace and raise the whole lower console, add another base shaker and add one or two larger MFDs in the main dash. I am going to remove the rest of the PVC pipe except for the overhead panel when i rebuild the lower panel to close everything in and make it look tighter and cleaner. I just finished working on the electrical for the lights on the back, and rebuilding the the glare shield lighting this past weekend. fixed wing controls are on the outside and slide into place. Real man controls are on the inside.
In these pictures the monitor got pushed a foot back. When I fly it is tight with the dash.
I started with this two years ago

Re: Want to see your setup
So I don't have it yet, but I'm just about to order this setup with a set of Bell 206 controls. However, if they were able to make the UH-1H control set, would anyone be interested? The control set (just controls, not the full setup here) of pedals, collective and stick for the Bell 206 is AU $350, so I wouldn't imagine that the UH-1H set would be much more, I'm just gathering interest for them at the moment to give them an idea of if it would be worth it.
Pictured set is for the AS350, I'll upload the Bell 206 set when I get the image.

Re: Want to see your setup
I would be interested in some Huey controls...Will they make a collective head for the collective?

Re: Want to see your setup
Man, I've just spent more than that for space ships that don't even exist yet!
I'll be keen on Huey controls.
Maybe the 206 ones can be modded? (collective head that is).
What is the setup worth?...That seat looks quite comfy.

Re: Want to see your setup
My racing seat was $800, but they're currently about $950, add the controls, I reckon you'd be looking at $1,300 all up, and I can say that the construction is absolute 1st class.

Re: Want to see your setup
Appologies, I can't share them yet, but I will as soon as I can. I've just seen pre-marketing images of the Bell 206 controls and they look 1 for 1 the same as those found in the Jet Ranger such as this image from the real thing.
As for UH-1H collective heads, if there is enough demand, it could happen!

Re: Want to see your setup
I would be interested in the pedals if they come with a gameport connection instead of USB. I need to plug them into my HOTAS Cougar.
