Re: Want to see your setup
Finally done with my controls setup with everything where I want them to be and all set in place at the same time so I can fly or drive without having to swap anything out.
Everything is mobile so I can wheel it around when there is cleaning to be done, or if I want to move the room around without having to disassemble everything!

Yeah, I remember times when mine was clean like that
Now, getting back on topic, it's a very impressive setup, just got one question. Are you using the steering wheel and gear lever in flight sims? The latter especially would be useful, for, say, weapon selection.

Re: Want to see your setup
Very nice but I was hoping to see a new 55" 4k UHD display

Re: Want to see your setup
I do use them, mostly the gear shifter is used for landing gear up / down only though as it's easy to find in the dark
Griff, notice the big expanse of wall back there? Just about big enough for a 65" 4K I reckon

Re: Want to see your setup
Lol, not just yet eh, but...
On a serious note, I'm not getting a 4k TV. Yet.
The current range generally only support 30Hz at 4K (HDMI 1.4a) and my GTX780 only has an HDMI 1.4a port anyway, so even if I bought one of the few screens that does support 60Hz via HDMI 2, I could only do 30.
Next gen GPU and 4k TV's may be the answer.

Re: Want to see your setup
Thanks for the information. Evga has released a new line of 780's with 6 GB of VRAM specifically for using the cards with the 4k displays and higher resolutions. But, the specs still only specify HDMI. So I'm assuming even those cards still use 1.4a?

Re: Want to see your setup
Found these great little keyboards ($42) with a touchpad that I've now mounted up in front of my Warthog Throttle, the keyboard keys are just wider than the Throttle itself, it's the perfect size for a quick key press when you need it, and the touchpad works a treat in the clickable pit!

Re: Want to see your setup
It works like a charm. It has a little weight which requires a little more friction but i gives it a nice feel. And the throttle really depends on the quality of the sensor, in my case it's pretty well and you can even adjust the force required to turn it with allen key so you won't twist it by accident.

Re: Want to see your setup
As for materials all you need is: X-52 throttle, about 30cm of PVC pipe, bicycle handle, a small rubber seal and a cheap joystick that can look like a collective (I used this but I don't thik it's available outside Poland http://gametrade.pl/oh/6350-joystick-tomahawk-media-tech, the only thing I cared about was the shape of the head, it must be big enough to fit a pvc pipe at a convenient angle).
As for specs I will get to them tomorrow when I get home.

Re: Want to see your setup
Well heres an experiment of mine using a Saitek Throttle Quadrant , a goose neck from a kids scooter, a piece of 15mm washing machine hose and a roll of 1000 Mile an hour tape ( gaffer tape), still would like a form of friction brake, working on it, but the stiffness of the hose at the bottom is holding it for the moment. I use the other levers as throttle and wife turn up/ down switch -:
