Re: Flight announcements - Post here
Just want to offer my thanks for last night. I know with 1.2.9 and sabre released there was a good excuse for rearranging. The getting into a pattern and having a visual on lz was very useful for me and a new way of flying.
Cheers

Re: Flight announcements - Post here
Thanks for your efforts Logiebee. I'm flexible as long as I know a couple of days in advance. I think around 20:00 UTC/GMT is a good time.

I well speak with six to see if we can come up with a good time for him to carry out some training for us. I'm sure he'll be more than willing.

Who cares who's "active" ?
We have no salary to pay to nobody and the good thing is, there is always someone to fly with

Re: Flight announcements - Post here
Hey B company,
I have a pass out on Wednesday from the flying police and hope to be online from early evening UK time onwards. It would be nice if some other Bravo pilots could be there for some flying. If an IP is available it would be nice to do some formation lifts and landings before starting a mission all being well.
Hope to see you Wednesday night
Cheers

Re: Flight announcements - Post here
Sounds good Cib..
I’ll be about.
I must admit formation landings are an issue with me and something I have given a fair bit of thought to.
It is something you cannot practice SP as AI is inept.
Distance judgement within the simulated environmental can be difficult.
If you are at the rear, the ‘accordion’ effect plays havoc with speed control in an attempt to maintain formation which if too fast (often the case) on approach induces many problems.
Unless you are using the same lead pilot, glide slope, approach speed, deceleration rate, and landing speed are strong variables before topography and tactical situation are introduced into the mix. Accurate speed control for me appears to be the key.
Communication of the intended LZ can be difficult.
For me going straight into ‘role play’ formation landings without first completely mastering the basics just bends metal.
