Just being curious, why don't you just hop in in one of the two multiplayer servers that are up right now and test if you can join or even fire up a Huey? I would for sure rather do it today and still have time and opportunity to fix it till tomorrow if it doesn't, than just sitting and hoping, then maybe being disappointed tomorrow and not having time to fix before mission start, or having someone miss the beginning to help you fix it.

Update: Required mods installed and appear to be working. Managed to join one of the servers and fly around without any problems. Good to go!

Re: Flight announcements - Post here
Just wanted to say thanks for the flight tonight guys. I had a great time. Clearly I could use some work on the formation side of things but I guess that will improve as I get used to flying with other people.
Loved the escort by Delta. When you guys say you're doing a danger close strike you guys don't exaggerate. Ho-ly shit.
Thanks to DC and Chic for the pointers ahead of time. I can't wait to start my formal training.
Thanks again.

Hay Badger,
obviously it's better to fly with others, but you can also practice formation on your own using the stock Huey solo flight training, where an AI Huey takes of at your 10 o'clock 400 yards away soon after mission start. He flies up, around the end of runway, then races down the runway all the way to the coastline, then comes back to base again. Being AI, it is the most rock solid platform to form on, while humans always err a bit. Just my 2 cents.

Agree with Blade. But anytime you are online ask people if you can fly wuth them. Unless its a prearranged gig people will happily fly stuff with you.
Glad you enjoyed the fireworks.
FIRST time around
Me: Weapons malfunction.
Err...
I am in a slick not a gunship. Oops
Always look out the window on STARTUP.

Practising with AI is okay in some circumstances in that it is you can do it at any time however when starting out it is best to get some advice from experienced pilots first.

Of course, I'm just talking about times when you can't find anyone to fly with.

Hello Bravo pilots,
this Thursday I would like to confine our efforts to the Open Jungle map where we can get all the new members up to speed with our SOP's and practice formation flying, landing and just general flying to help integrate everyone into a more cohesive unit.
Blade and Painter as my most experienced pilots it would be great if you can attend and assist
Hope to see as many of you there as possible

I'll be there, Cib.
I'll be around most nights to be fair so if anyone wishes to get together and do some flying / practice ahead of time give me a shout.

Re: Flight announcements - Post here
Thanks for kind words - how could I refuse on such a humbling request...
If I may suggest something tough, please let's be polite to each other, and everybody updates Simple Radio to the latest one (v1.4.1!), and then please do test your PC at least a day ahead wether everything's running fine, by firing up SR and doing an audio preview (shout if you need help, moreover, after updating, SR messed up (at least my) audio input and output drop-down menu options). Then "connect to SRS server" (gives error message at his point if above options are not OK), then join up at least briefly on any 229th MP server, if it's a go for you (jump into a helo and fire up to see if comm frequencies are in fact mirrored in SR overlay), to avoid last minute "Oh, f**k!..." type discoveries. Takes only 5 minutes to test, but can take lot more to fix, messing up the mission schedule for you, and sometimes for others too in case you don't want to get left behind... just my 2 cents, sorry if redundant...

SR updated and tested. Did some flying with Huckleberry earlier on this evening and can confirm all is well with the world again. On that subject excellent flying, Huckleberry. Thoroughly enjoyed our air assaults in to enemy territory.

Re: Flight announcements - Post here
Yessir, It was my pleasure. Also good to have SR updated and working perfectly. I didn't have to adjust my volume or anything, and Badger's voice was crystal clear, no starch nor too quiet.
I don't have the same problem you're having Blade (I think it was you) where your default SR input/output has to be remapped every time you run it. For me, everything just worked with the update. Even the installer was painless and had my install dirs preselected. Good stuff...
I plan on being there with bells on Thursday for the mission. Hope to see many of you there
