Application to 229th
Hello, my name is Dave, going by Beamer.
I fly the Huey in DCS, about a month or so now. Except for a month on ARMA 3, this is my first online multi-player sim.
I'm 68, was in the Army '71-'78 as a Acft Turbine Engine Repairman 68B stationed in W.Germany with the 48th AVN Co, 223rd Avn Batt working on our 26 Hueys(Blue Stars) and 6 Cobras(Jokers).
Largest aircraft company in army inventory at the time. Self contained company with it's own support attached (ie DS & GS maintenance, motorpool, mess, etc) all air mobile.
We shuffled tac nukes around W. Germany like the shell game. Some cans had nukes, some had sand...kept the ruskies guessing.
Other flying experience includes 12 yrs of Ultralights in the Sacramento river delta area. I flew a Quicksilver MX Super and I instructed with a 2 seat Quicksilver MXL Sport 2. We flew with amphib floats in the summer and wheels in the winter.
I've retired from running my own BMW m/c shop in San Francisco and moved to the farthest northwestern corner of the lower 48, on the Olympic peninsula.
Anyway, if you wouldn't mind me hanging around, I'd appreciate it. So far, it's been alot of fun.
