I use to be able to physically move my head fore and aft and than hit NUM5 to set the perfect pilot position.....now when I move fore and aft the same virtual distance is maintained....Any ideas?

are you using the  UI to center your VR  ?

Look under the "UI Layer" setting in the Controls area..... (not sure this is what you're looking for)

In 2D you need to use R Alt + NumPad 0 to lock in the new Num5 default view.
Cant remember if same applies in VR.
