TMWH Throttle upgrade to COLLECTIVE
For several years I have been using TMWH throttle and extension as a collective and this has worked well with good control.
In VR and seriously getting into the Ka50 it became problematic using button boxes / switches by feel at exactly the right moment... sure I also use VA but tend to use that for non critical functions.
Chatting to a good friend in MV Industries, he said, I can sort that.... 5 days later, this morning, this was dropped off by courier...
Easily clips on or off the TMWH in 1 second and is secured with the throttle sliding latching bolt. The TMWH friction wheel hold it at full tightness but I added a bungee cord for silky smooth operation.... there's a twist throttle with hall sensors and friction control that lock it if required.... 7 momentary buttons, 2x 3 way layching toggles and 1x 3 way momentary toggle and 2 HATS.... all of which are easily and quickly engaged with my thumb and forefinger... the design is absolutely awesome... now I am just bragging but it might give others an idea or 2...

Hey DaBomb,
Link to what exactly? This was a private commission between Gizzy and myself. He has nicknamed my hardware output as being from MV Industries. I may offer some similar pieces on same basis, but I will not be going into production!

Hey Gizzy,
Pretty cool. Could you take some pictures to show how you have it hooked on to the throttle? Also wondering if MV Industries would mind me using his idea for my own collective?

Hi Phantom,
Happy to help.
I foolishly did not keep or make templates of the special bracket I made to slot between and bed onto the TM throttle levers.... But I basically made 3 plates out of some scrap 3mm Aluminium, the profiles of which follow the shapes of the throttle levers. The middle one has a hole through which the throttles' joining slide-bolt passes, which locks the whole unit in place.
I will ask Gizzy to send me some pics to remind me how I did it! Then I will draw up a diagram showing their respective shapes. The alignment is crucial, so as not to get any rattle or wobble.
I only have drills, files, dremel etc. No CnC, no 3D Printers. A good solid bench mounted vice is useful... (but I do not even have one of those...yet!) So pretty much any handy guy (or gal) can do this.
One tip, I never throw anything away until it is so small that I cannot cut it smaller....
I will contact again once I can recreate those templates. I will publish them on ED forums anyway at some point.

Re: TMWH Throttle upgrade to COLLECTIVE
Wow, never thought of this way. I made a collective with an old joystick stood on its side. I never really solved the collective friction although I was throwing together a switch box until I got distracted. Any chance to see inside that box? I would love to be able to make something with all those bells and whistles!!

Re: TMWH Throttle upgrade to COLLECTIVE
Inside is a nest of wiring, a Leo Bodnar board and a matrix board.
I reckon I've had hundreds of flight hours on it and it works perfectly....
Contact Molevich for further electronic details, he's the master of that stuff..
