I can also make it this Thursday. My Router has been replaced/upgraded with a newer model today, so I hope I won't have any disconnects anymore.

Re: Thursday Night Mission 19/10/17 19.00 UTC
Just a terrain mod technical question: Starway's mod downloaded is a .rar file. Can OvGME handle it as a .rar file, or should it be converted to zip file first?

Can't say for certain mate, I believe my instal is uncompressed but I had it installed when I used to use JSGME and kept the files to use with OVGME

Re: Thursday Night Mission 19/10/17 19.00 UTC
Should Starway be enabled today in that case (is there even a flight today?). I actually have Black Sea enabled, but I can easily switch it using OvGME. It would be better to have the "correct/fitting" terrain already up and loaded before joining the server.

"Starways Green Thunder terrain mod is recommended but not required."
You can connect with whichever terrain you have activated, because it's only you who's gonna see it on your end. No collision with the server.

Re: Thursday Night Mission 19/10/17 19.00 UTC
Thanks for the Info. I was just thinking because Cib once mentioned he's using it....so it may be helpful if it "looks the same" for most pilots, especially when you get a message like "I'm landing close to the gray building".
Since it's recommended, I'll enable it. It's anyway the prefered playground for the Huey. For the Mi-8, I prefer Black Sea.

Re: Thursday Night Mission 19/10/17 19.00 UTC
I am running a bit late so may not make the start time! So it might be better I don't make it at all.... Shame! I have some hardware calibration issues to solve, same as last time.... Don't want to be the annoying git who keeps crashing.

Well, if I have Starway enabled, the server won't let me in due to
config/effects/clouds.lua
bazar/shaders/clouds/cldshad.fx
Well, I can simply delete those files in the mod....but I'm wondering why the others don't have those problems?

Re: Thursday Night Mission 19/10/17 19.00 UTC
Yeah, glad I got on in the end with the aid of a well placed piece of Gaffer Tape! Now I just gotta hot-glue gun all that stuff down. Nice to get flying again, feels like I have been off for ages, being the flight engineer and not the pilot. Flew a bit with Survival after the rest of you left, before real-life called me....
Now that's dealt with, think I'll try the Navigation Test .miz again.

Strange, I could swear I posted a reply here yesterday but it's gone, but maybe it was too late and I only clicked on Preview and didn't click send in the end. Who knows....
Of course we had the obligate 15-30 minutes delay yesterday (and I had my obligate disconnect as well) but overall it was fun. I got surprised by the amount of enemies when we should have deployed troops though. That may explain my rough landing and my crash. The missing speedometer made adjusting the landing a bit harder.
During formation flying I was of course too far away - as usual. However, the longer we flew, the better it went. I made a short "summary" video of the practice (I cut out the speech when possible. I did not notice the sound stuttering in the middle of the video though). Formation landing on the carrier was cool though. I'm sure it would have been even more interesting as Four instead of Two because you would have seen all the helicopters in front of you.

It was quite interesting to fly the Huey again after hours and hours in the Mi-8.

Gizzy posted a link to a Google Cloud file in his posts following last Sunday night’s training. Maybe it was a PM to me but I think it was general. I am on a mobile phone right now which makes it tricky to navigate the forum.... will try and find it.
