B Company Normandy Ops
Hi guys, I hope you have all got 2.1 and Normandy I would like to start some sessions to get us all back to a decent level of competency with our formation flying and though the new guys are excused I always felt our group landings could use some work. We now have a very suitable sandbox in Normandy with all the collision models and small fields with physical boundaries. So I hope to see you online tommorow evening for some formation flying, LZ work both hot and cold and generally to have a good time:D

Hi Cib, me neither, unfortunately I'm not going to buy it anytime soon. My next -and more urgent- purchase will be a better joystick and pedals (as Blade well knows ). Furthermore, I'm waiting that the map and the engine are more stable and be sure that I can get a decent frame rate in MP (my HW is i5-6600k, gtx1060, 32gb ram, ssd, FHD monitor).
Anyway, I'm looking forward to get the first level, but unfortunately tomorrow I won't be flying
P.S. About normandy map: I know that now the engine will calculate collisions with the trees, but are the trees burnt or destroyed with rockets/missiles/bombs like the buildings?

OK I had a nice long post written last night and I clicked to read a PM and lost it Grrr
Upshot is, NTTR runs nice on my rig Cody and Normandy too, your CPU is better than mine too. Blade we will still do missions on Caucasus so everyone is able to join but try and get Normandy mate, its a much better environment for chopper work

Re: B Company Normandy Ops
I assume we will be getting some patches soon but it basically runs at quite high settings at 45 fps in the rift or 60 with vsync on a 1920x1200 monitor or the 1080p tv. It is better performance wise than the old map in 1.5 and with the new lighting it is very pretty
Also it looks more like Vietnam than the Caucasus
Also trees burn after collisions

I'll be on later if you need an extra slick... or I can fly GS or A10 overwatch whatever you need to fit in with your plans. Not got Normandy yet be tempted. We'll see. Like the idea of collidable trees. Got Nevada if you want to go dusty.

Hay Cib,
I might be slow (?), but I don't even have DCS World 2.0 (which is definitely necessary for Normandy, and NTTR). I'm not sure I get more benefit than trouble, so I don't want to mess up my vanilla 1.5. I'm not sure I'd like to pay around 100 bucks to be a guinea pig especially as long they do not fix up 1.5 and the modules properly, which I paid for looong time ago already. Sorry if I seem to be rogue...

Re: B Company Normandy Ops
2.0 is a seperate installation, it runs alongside 1.5 not instead of. FYI

Re: B Company Normandy Ops
OK, then it will not mess up my 1.5 install, cool. But 2.0 is still in alpha phase with a tons of things to patch up along the way as far as I know. But if you can convince me 2.0 w/ NTTR and Normandy gonna be more benefit over 1.5 than trouble, I might rethink it...

Re: B Company Normandy Ops
I want to get this Normandy. I have Nevada Test range with DCS 2.0. Does Normandy run on DCS 2.0 or do I have to download a third version of DCS?

Re: B Company Normandy Ops
Normandy instals into 2.0 except 2.0 is now updated to 2.1, both NTTR and Normandy can be accessed in the same game
