I use both regularly. Simple Radio has the advantage of being free, and the advantage (?) of being standalone - although never quite understood why the second one is important...? However, Simple Radio currently has the massive disadvantage of two separate radios stepping on each other. Until he can fix that problem it is pretty much useless IMHO.

A 229th search will bring up plenty of posts on SR and how it became introduced.... https://1stcavdiv.forumotion.net/t2113-simple-radio?highlight=simple+radio

Personally I would not write off SR as useless for 229th use.... Ciribobs DCS forum thread shows the current and planned development... he has introduced virtually everything people has asked including a volume control for one of the KA50 radios which is not even modelled - although UR is also good.

Not tied to TS can be a big issue when TS becomes problematic with as TS and the UR plugin need to be in synch - this has been an issue in the past.

Evilivan, 100% disagree.
I used both and prefer SR by far against UniverseRadio. One big advantage for me is to have Teamspeak separatly usable when using SR. That's not the case during UniverseRadio is in use.
Also I have simply no problems when there are comms on several radios at the same time. I fly a lot on Blueflag this days and have like 80 % of the time comms on different radios at the same time and without problems.
Not to mention SR is free.
For me I see absolutly no reason for a change, SR works like a charm.

Edit: Just to add - I always was not a fan of any radio addon what is dependent on Teamspeak at all.
