B Company Recruit Training
Gentlemen, in the shamelessly plagiarised words of Chic, I am honored to be asked to assume the role of Unit Training Officer for B Company. As such, I will focus on the indoctrination of new B Coy recruits, and on their prep for the Basic Wings Check Ride (mostly using slightly shorter words).
Feel free to PM me - or post in this thread - any requests for training. I am usually around Thursday evenings 1830z onwards, as well as weekends, and I'm happy to make myself available at other times, schedule allowing.
Please make yourself familiar with the important information found here:
https://1stcavdiv.forumotion.net/f4-instructor-s-tent
....with a focus on the SOP and the Basic Wings check ride criteria:

There is also some excellent additional information in Gizzy's training programme available here:

Re: B Company Recruit Training
Can I use this opportunity to suggest that anyone currently on Bravo's muster who has not got Basic wings gets in touch with EvilIvan and arranges some training. It is not difficult to achieve but it does take some commitment from the candidate.

I will be on this evening and more than happy to help any WOC's if they need it. Ijammer it may be a good opportunity to troubleshoot your SRS if you can get online for a bit tonight

Re: B Company Recruit Training
Hi Cib... yup, I can be on the server tonight. With regard to SR, I think my main problems are related to my Vista OS, old MoBo and DDR2 memory just not being able to keep up. My Vista OS has already refused to install the Net Frame update as it is not compatible with Vista 64; so, 1.2.8.0 and possibly 1.2.9.0 won't work for moi. I am in the process of checking out some new hardware and installing W7 or W10.
Monday's mission... my PC and or network crashed out early on as I lost DCS, TS and SR. When I re-entered DCS I found TS (1.2.6.0) would run for a few minutes but with very distorted unintelligible audio (perhaps I should have re-booted the PC). I switched SR off in the end and reverted back to TS that runs just fine. We can test this again tonight if you are on. However, I am not sure about SR 1.2.6.0 being able to talk to v 1.2.8(9).0 ? When in single player mode I am getting 40 - 60 FPS, but when I go multi-player my FPS dips down to about 15 FPS... which makes it difficult to maintain control over the Huey especially when hovering. Tonight I will lower the eye candy in the settings and try to grab back some FPS for multi-player. However, their is no doubt that my old PC needs an upgrade. I have tried to put off the evil day... mainly through a lack of knowledge on modern PC requirements, but it will have to be done if I want to progress with DCS multi-player.
Anyhow, what time are you planning to be on tonight Cib...? It will be interesting to see if SR 1.2.6.0 and 1.2.8 (9).0 can actually talk to each other?

Re: B Company Recruit Training
The word from our Company training officer is that both Gisen and Metzger will be sitting their basic wings test soon. I hope they both do well and we will soon have an extra 2 WO1's to add to the company strength.
That should leave Evilivan free to concentrate on the newest recruits, our friends from the 333rd, so please guys anyone who would like training and check rides for the huey sign up below and we will organise a program for you.
Any WO1 who would like to practise for the senior wings please let me know and I will attempt to organise some training for this with an IP.
For any task from the wings program that people would like to refresh themselves or have some practice sessions please post below.
I am still seeing confusion with regard the SOP for lights. Please check out our SOP for details
relevant links in first post.
We also all need work on landing together as a flight both during troop drops and landing back at base. The formation flying is also coming on well and its a pleasure to have you flying alongside me, it is such a buzz when you do a quick F3 and everyone is where they should be

I'm time rich at the moment (between jobs), so feel free to PM me if you want to organise some training for Basic Wings.
