Some news of the Gazelle.
We had an interview of PAT01, the creator of the SA 342 Gazelle from Polyshop, on the French forum checksix.fr
I thought I could translate a few of what seem to be interesting for us.
The Gazelle is almost finished and ready for open beta release! (for 1.5 and 2.0 EDGE version.)
They are just waiting for ED’s green light.(could be in a few days)
The model will be the SA 342 HOT Viviane. A version with 4 HOT anti-tank missile, Day and night capability, Laser equipped, RWR, Auto pilot and auto hover.
Two seated version will come as soon as ED is ready.
Other armament like 20mm canon, AA mistral could come if ED allow them to do it.
The flight model has been tested by RL pilots and they said it was ok.
New features like rearm refuel anywhere on the map, recon function (point Viviane to the objective=Flag on) are operational with the beta version.
The bolkow 105 is also almost finished.
Next module from polyshop could be a fixed wing.
Here you are guys, I’m sure most of you look forward to see this funny little bird in their hands!
Don’t hesitate to ask further information if you need I’ll do my best to translate.

I used Google Translate on the article, and with a few exceptions, it is quite understandable.

So does that mean you are volunteering to making the checklists for us?

Re: Some news of the Gazelle.
I have some interesting material on the Gazelle.
If you guys want to have a quick read, you can check one of the G manuals on avialogs

Re: Some news of the Gazelle.
I didn't think this model came with a laser so great news if it does. I am now practicing my JTAC skills so I can use this for conducting recces and requesting CAS and IDF.
Can't wait!

Re: Some news of the Gazelle.
Yeah, I don't think we are going to have shortage of people going for their Gazelle wings.
I wonder how Six is going tracking down some ATMs for us.

Re: Some news of the Gazelle.
Q: Is the laser only for range finding or can you really designate tgts for fast movers (lgb's) ?

Re: Some news of the Gazelle.
According to the developers, they will only simulate existing systems.
And from what I read, Viviane is a gyroscopic stabilized aiming system with thermic capacity and laser telemetry up to 10 km range.
No target designator...

Re: Some news of the Gazelle.
By laser telemetry does that mean that the viviane will give you an accurate MgRS of your target?

It will depend on the exact version of the Viviane modeled in DCS.
Before 2010: vivane hot with laser telemeter: range finder.
After 2010: Viviane SITALAT with laser designator and connected systems. Maps and 3D battlefield images.
This photo of early modeled cockpit should let us think it will be a recent version…
Wait...(it's soooo long) and see!
