Hey guys...
Greetings my brothers,
Two tihings (kinda related).
First, a HUGE apology for not being present online with you guys. I've missed it, and (hopefully) will be back soon.
Reason being that I'm in the throes of a medical "anomoly", and it basically sucks balls. It's vision related (hence the absense from being online flying with you), it's been about a month since it mysteriously began, and it has the potential to be career ending. I won't bore you with the details, suffice to say that the doctor types don't know (as of yet) what caused it, not sure how long it will last, and again, I have no idea how long I'll be away from the airline (maybe for good). I'll keep you in the loop.
Since I've had nothing but time on my hands for the last month, I decided to completely redo my old video tribute to the brave crews of Operation Lam Son 719. When I originally did the video (June of 2013), the Huey was fairly new, but lots of things weren't working yet (ie., the door gunners, sling loads, etc), so it was "OK", but not very realistic. IMHO, it had to be re-worked.
Two things prompted me to redo it.
1) the added features since then, and,
2) the fact that the knuckleheads at "YouTube" seem to be ass-wipes about some of the music that I included the first time around. To put it up on their site, I had to break it into 2 parts. The funny part is that they left "Part 1" alone completely, but totally muted "Part 2" due to "infringement rights" bullsh*t. I emailed their lawyers, swore on a stack of (King James) Bibles that I legally owned all the songs, and even put in a disclaimer at the end of the vid stating such. They allowed the music for a few days, then went back to their original ruling and muted the 2nd half! Â Lawyers....not my favorite people (sorry if anyone here puts food on their table using a Law Degree).
A few screenshots from the "new" version of "Lam Son 719":

It was made using an SP mission I concocted, the "Tracks" feature in the game, FRAPS, Windows Movie Maker, and a LOT of retakes flying the Huey. I will be the VERY FIRST TO ADMIT that I have no talent as a movie maker, but it was fun to do, and I hope it spreads a little education around concerning what those amazing crews did during 6 horrible weeks as the Vietnam War was winding down.
Here's the "Dropbox" link to watch the movie (still new to having a dropbox account, me "thinks" you just click on the link and can watch the vid...maybe it allows you download it...not sure...lol).

I hope you enoy it...

("thanks again" Strut for helping me with those Phantom skins!)
(Two hints...TURN UP THE MUSIC...if you can't dig on these tunes [from 1971 time frame, except for the opening]...well then maybe the Huey isn't for you! J/King of course! Other hint...big file...you might want to let it buffer for a bit before you watch it...)

So LB, what does that mean in English?

Re: Hey guys...
It means that Dropbox have a maximum bandwidth limit that they enforce on 'free' accounts, something like 1GB / day of downloads. When you hit that, they temporarily disconnect your links for a day or two, then they get re-enabled automatically.

Re: Hey guys...
OK....upgraded to a "pro" account.
Should be good to go now.
Oh....forgot to mention. With all this time off, I decided to (wait for it)...start a friggin blog. I know, I know..."BBall is becoming a millenial"...go figure. Just a place to post up the word vomit that I've written over the years...also, pondering the idea of putting them all in book form. We'll see...
