Hi,

my name is Gabor, and I'm from Hungary. I'm a flying enthusiast, I love everything what flies (okay, insects are exceptions). I come from the FSX/P3D world, I've spent a few thousand hours on VATSIM, mostly flying for Virtual Ryanair and Air-Child.

Helicopters have a special place in my heart. I had a few RC helis, done some basic 3D flying, and been looking for a good sim that has a challenging/realistic flight model. FSX/P3D isn't the best place for this...

Discovered DCS, and a whole new world opened for me, especially in VR. I'm amazed by the complexity of the Huey and especially the MI8. I've just started to fly regularly in the past few weeks, I'm in the middle of the Huey campaign and done some of the missions (but they don't appear to be working neither in the stable nor in the beta version of 2.5).

I was just flying around in multiplayer, where I met another Huey pilot. He told me that I should check out the "229th". You got me with the youtube advertisement, not to talk about the possibility of flying in group/formation with helis. Goosebumps as I'm writing this! Very Happy

Hello Gabor and welcome, I’m a new member as well and I can tell you if you like helicopters your definitely in the right spot. The people are really friendly and SUPER helpful so I’m sure you’ll feel at home in no time... I can’t give you any help on getting up and running on the 229th as it’s all new to me as well but I can tell you that the instructors all monitor this channel, so it won’t be long before one of them comes along to get you going.
