HEy all

New guy here trying to install the mods but getting an error ive tried it 3x how the guide shows. and I tried to create a new profile but get a warning.

" Config for Z:\DCS World Open Beta Already exists"


what gives?? I thought you could make new profiles for different mods as it says in the guide and video. Can anyone help

Hi Backdraft. You can have the same mod storage folder pointing to different dcs installs, but not vice versa. You cant put multiple profiles into the same dcs install directory.

So, for instance, I have 4 DCS profiles in OVGME.

openbeta program mods
openbeta saved games mods
stable program mods
stable saved games mods

each profile is pointing to a different dcs directory, but they are a pair of profiles that come from the same "mod storage" directory (where you keep the mods when not using them)

Ahhh I hate not being computer savvy.

So I have OV Mods Folder (my P-51,F-15,stuff)
and a 229th MODS Folder(Our stuff here)
in the Z:\DCS folder.

I went to make a new like it says in the video and the Guide in welcome pack, and then make it
look to the 229th folder, so it cant?? I'm confused so what you are saying is I cant do that?

So how does the mod pack load. I only have 2.5

Ah, yeah I can see how that's confusing. The 229th folder was just an example. Yours can be anything, i.e. the folder your p51 and f15 stuff is in. So in other words consolidate 229th mods into same folder as p51 and f15 stuff

You'll need DCS 2.5.1 openbeta to use our servers unless we go back to stable 2.5 sometime.

You'll have 2 profiles:
2.5.1 program mods
2.5.1 saved games mods

Your other mods are loaded with one of these profiles, depending on which they were in originally
Your 229th required mods are loaded with 2.5.1 saved games mods profile
Your 229th optional mods are loaded with 2.5.1 program mods profile

I meant 2.5.1. Ok I'll work this when I get home. I think I'll just use same folder like you said cause it sees those mods.

Now to know they are all in and working I'll be able to get on server. Right?

Yes, in 2.5.1 load the mods 'stable and openalpha' 00-09, and you should be able to get in
