229th AHB COMMS PROPOSAL for DISCUSSION - IMPORTANT
229th AHB communications proposal.
As usual, my head going above the parapet (meaning)... which often gets me into trouble, I know I never learn, but here goes...
Please give your views and discuss.
If we get a consensus and a green light is given by HHC then I will make some videos / dummies guides and run some training to get people sorted... but this may be a lot of work... so please get involved...

I agree with expanding the use of Simple Radio and encourage people to use it whenever possible. Myself and a few other members have been using it a lot lately in training and in missions. Using SR adds to the immersion and realism of the game.

I totally agree with this. The more you use it, it becomes second nature. Not just when you do a mission which leads to problems that isn't easily identifiable, unless you use it all the time and get used to the quarks and workarounds.

I support it. SR is essential for large missions, otherwise TS gets clogged up. It will take some practice but it's worth it.

Thanks for these who responded on this .
SIX has included Channels and Freqs for basic role in the SOP's and guidelines for MIZ freqs issued.
I do not believe discussions at command level materialised though....
The current Simple Radio 1.3.2.0, a significant improvement on 1.2.9 the current server version.
I ask that the SR server be upgraded (note: a TCP port needs to be open) so that those using 1.3.2 can use the additional features.
As usual, any one who wants any help in getting SR working (remember cockpit mappings makes things a lot easier) please PM me.
Here Cierans Video showing some of the new features....

However I guess you are already looking after the update getting onto the servers, right? Thanks in advance !
One of the most important bugfixes is the (hopefully) proper saving of input and output devices at the end of a session, as it used to save a different microphon and/or a different speaker when you shut down SRS, so that people not really discovered it until next time when they fired up SRS. Then, if you didn't check and reset both devices to the proper one, you couldn't hear and or transmit anything, or even unable to connect to the SRS server. Many people couldn't join Coy flights using SRS because they couldn't figure out the problem.
