I hereby apply for duty with the 1st Air Cavalry, 229th.

I currently have good experience with the Mi-8 helicopter and also am competent with the Huey. Currently receiving training from PI Gizzy over at BlackSharkDen, and I want to have access to flying more missions timed for Europe/GMT, as BSD is predominantly EST USA.

I have been flying casually in DCS over many years, since Lock-On and the inception of the A10, and particularly with the release of the Black Shark module. In the past year, since achieving a semi-retired status, I have more time and energy to devote to the pursuit of rotary wing sim flying.

I have spent the last 5 months upgrading my sim-pit equipment, having miraculously acquired the cyclic and collective sticks from a Mi-24 which the UK MOD used as a target to determine what ordnance to be most effective against the Hind! So I am very much looking forward to Belsimtek's impending release of their in-dev Mi-24 module. I fly in VR on the Rift also.

So hopefully you will accept my application and I look forward to my first assessment flight.

Hey Molevitch, I'm assuming your in the UK.  That would put you in B Coy.  You should be hearin from  B Coy Captain Cib soon.  In the mean time, please go to Usergroups above to register with B Company.  You'll soon get activated for full forum access.   In the mean time set up your call sign that will identify you on this forum and TeamSpeak.  Example: (B/229) Molevitch.

Hi Gizzy,

Username done, TS bookmarked but not setup yet. Simpit inaccessible for a few days due to spare bedroom use over the next few days off and on. Back to normal next week.

So, to apply for Basic Wings Training, who should I contact, Cib or yourself? Just want to observe the protocols....

We're laid back...Just shout if any IP, Chic, Cib, me are about and we will take you through it.... If you wish there is a Senior Wings you can later work at and a similar program for the Mi8... Check out the instructors tent for more details..

GUNFIGHTERSIX is the Mi8 Maestro... Chic & Cib are knowledgeable as are others.  Out of country at the moment, will see you next week..

Hi Cib,

Yes, Gizzy has been keeping an eye on me, and I have been flying with him and others both here and at Black Shark Den. I believe I have passed on the UH-1 my first level of qualification, so hopefully I can be useful around here. I am also pretty proficient on the Mi-8.
