Recruit FragBum reporting for WO training.
Hello my name is Robert, I live in a regional part of the state of Queensland in Australia. i'm a recent Sim-er and recent DCS addict with just over 12 months of attempting to miss the ground and most everything else flying Huey and Gazelle and yes alright I admit that I've had a play with some of the WW II air-planes maybe a couple of hours total, vnice but it's the propeller it's on the nose. I know right?
The Huey was the attraction for DCS, that romance of a period and I always wanted to fly one, have flown in one a few times on a training exercise, never saw active duty but I was proficient at digging in, in some of the rockiest locations. I'm sure rocks are a prerequisite for training grounds. So after pounding the keyboard and learning to concatenate multiple swear words to form new expressions the addiction started, a joystick well of course that's how the real thing is right. Wrong. Anti-toque pedals, then after a trial introductory flight in a Robinson R44 cadet I was in way deep. Next a home brew collective a seat, ditched the centre detents put an extension on the cyclic and put it where it belongs between my legs. This sad state of affairs doesn't end there I'm currently mocking up a V-Pit and worse I predicted this very behaviour when I added my 2 bob's worth on Steam in a review on the Huey, truly sad.
So I guess it's time to learn to fly these aircraft.

Hi Frag, welcome Sir...
As I'm sure you've read, C Coy looks after your end of the woods, goto Usergroups in the top menu and apply to join C Coy. That'll get the ball rolling... Someone from C will point you in the right direction and give you access to all forums and server info etc....
World time differences can make hooking up difficult at times and C Coy lads are rather quite these days.
(D/229) Chalky (Aus) is always looking someone to fly his local time, I've fired him a PM....

Thank you sir.
Indeed I have applied to C Coy. I have been known to keep odd hours so look forward to catching up, as soon as I get this new fangled teamspeak thingy happening.

Okay... as you're on, I activated the transfer on C Coy's behalf so you can have full forum access. C Coy commander will send you joining instructions.
In the meantime change your username to (C/229) Fragbum on this forum and also on your TS name and DCS nickname when you can.. Come on TeamSpeak sometime, poke someone to drag you down and set privileges and show you about the servers. If TS appears quiet(holiday season) ask on the forum for a sched with anyone and give some times... that'll do it..

Re: Recruit FragBum reporting for WO training.
Well I'm back from vacation, we had a great time and I got to do a couple of dives on the reef and clocked up 3.8 hours in an R44 Cadet. (total 4.8hrs logged)
Pre Flights
Startup
Hovering
transitioning into flight/out of flight
circuits
climb with and without turns
decent with and without turns
cruse
land
takeoff
Wow got back home and put the steering damper on my collective, it now feels "Real" and have been putting my experience into DCS Gazelle and Huey.
We also covered autorotation we did 5 of them and power loss at hover for those I just followed Glen (the instructor) on the controls for those the rest of it was me.
Saving up to do more flight training,..
