My DCS Huey Youtube Channel
I recently made a youtube channel and I am going to be putting up UHD videos of our missions and sorties as seen from my cockpit.
If you're ever feeling fancy, take a gander. A lot of you are in it, in recent free flights we have made together. I may also post videos of my flight training.

Good record Huck, and good flying. The first part was an impromptu shoot it up over the ridge and Huck tagged along behind me ....
He must have enjoyed it as he's now engaged in formal D Coy Gunship and 229th Senior wings training with 'D'... great stuff sir... and good fun I may add...

Really nice video Huckleberry!
A few questions:
- Are you using VR? Which rig?
- You have a terrain mod only around villages, houses, airport... it's nice, how to do that? Is there any mod like that ready to use?
- I see that sometimes you use copilot view, not only when shooting, but also during flight, is there any particual reason? (I'm curious about fligth technique, maybe...)

HTC Vive, GTX 1080 FTW, i7 2600k. Both overclocked to what I can push it stable. Both water cooled also.
What you see in the videos is not what I see in the vive. Not totally. You are seeing my left eye, at 2K resolution. I am recording that by letting the game also render to my picturebox monitor fullscreen, and recording it using GeForce experience.
In my vive, the settings are a bit different. The res is at 2K, but not 2K per-eye. It still looks alot more pixelated than what you see. My VR settings, pixel density is set to 2.0 but even that only goes so far, and has no effect on video quality. But I'm pleased as punch with the quality I get from the recordings. And in VR, I'm so immersed anyway it doesn't matter much unless I start getting poor frame rate.
My terrain mods are fairly standard, Barthek's mod, and then on top of that I put the newest Starway's jungle mod. It overwrites some of the bartheks stuff, says JSGME.

Gauges are cool and helpful, but they can get annoying when I don't need them. It might be helpful to use your instrument panel when not in VR, to get a feel for your absolute position or trajectory in space.
In my vive, it basically is already 'real' and I can get that kind of positional awareness by just moving my head a bit. That being said, the big panel in front of the pilot becomes a big waste of space unless I want to actually see all those gauges and dials.
In the copilot seat, I've still got the important gauges like airspeed and vertical speed indicators, but it's all tucked neatly away to the right side, and doesn't obstruct the copilot view as much as the pilot seat does.
I find this immeasurably helpful when hovering out of ground effect, and semi-helpful in many other facets of flight. Generally, it just allows me to see more of the world around me, which makes me feel more in control of the helicopter.
I'm glad you liked it. Good questions Cody.

My pleasure, thanks.
Skeeter, there's some good footage of us chasing each other in this one, starting around 20:00

We definitely overstressed our airframes a couple times...
