DCS Hard Crash Empty DCS Hard Crash

Post by (H/229) Skeeter Wed 11 Jan 2017, 00:42

Anytime I try and join a 229th server DCS crashes back to desk top. I can join any other Multi server and single player is not an issue.
Done repair, only "mods" running is the objects pack 1.3.
caps lock off, password correct.
Any ideas?

Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Event Viewer / Windows Logs / Application
Scroll down the list when you see red signs and inspect them for what application caused the fault. It should list what specifically caused the fault.

Since the last update DCS often crashes on me when attempting to load the 229th jungle map MP server.

4 out of 5 it'll crash.

Jump onto another 229th server and its generally good.

Logs never show the crash at exactly the same point but generally there is loads of failures on the objects or cargo front then an exception.

Perhaps the issue is some missions are linked to objects that are no longer available or work in the current 229th objects pack.

I know the 132nd used to have Range Objects in the 'SAVED GAMES' folder but these were updated at Xmas by the authors (476th) and the 132nd had to revert to JSGME insertion.

I fly with the 132nd regularly with absolutely no issues which tends to suggest a mission / object / mod conflict somewhere...

DaBomb came on and helped me last night. After a clean install I still could not get in the 229th open word server could get into the Open Beta server with the Medevac mission running. Installed the objects 1.3 and everything started working.
End answer = Strange since DaBomb could get in the open world without mods.
Thanks everyone for the help.

This seems to be a common theme:
C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\WorldGeneral.dll

There is nothing in the 229th mods folder that would even tamper with this file, so I wonder if that file is corrupted, which I doubt since it only affects our server. I also wonder if its just a bad script written inside the server mission itself...thats probably the most likely answer there. Its not the objects mod, its a script error. It would explain a lot of issues Ive seen and been experiencing myself in the 229th server, but nowhere else. Maybe its time to make a new training map?

Certainly I could make a new jungle map utilising the latest CTLD and generic dropoff zone and specific pickup zones with current objects in the 229th Mods pack... it would not take too long...

Is there any one looking after / directing this area, daB?

I'll hold fire until there is a direction from someone..

My error was in the Transport dil file. DaBomb was saying might be something with the CTLD, but Im not sure and dont want to put words in his mouth.

Tonight was terrible, 10 crashes then eventually 1 entry, same no matter what mission, Painter's or the Jungle... and I was flying the jungle 30 mins before B Mission..

In the mission, crash after 20 minutes, eventually a re-entry then later a screen freeze.

Repair, remove all mods other than standard 229, no scripts for tacview, simshaker, UR or SRT made no difference.

Remember DCS updater repair made no impact.

Total DCS re-install bar the saved games folder 'seems' to have fixed it though...
