Having just got the DCS Mi-8 module, I was surprised to see that the anti-torque pedal style was a swivel one rather then a Huey-style tilt/swing style one.

Is this an East/West thing?

I assume that the design choice is arbitrary, given by history/tradition rather than function?

What style of pedals are on current generation US/Western birds: BlackHawk's, Apache's, Chinook's, etc.?

What about the Osprey? Assume this is fixed-wing swivel style?

64s are like the uh1 but larger and with brakes. Like the ka50. So its just a design thing, since a center console between the feet will already limit your choice.

This appears to be at least basically similar to the Apache's pedals (though there do not appear to be anything that looks obviously, to an uninitiated like myself, like brakes here):

Also, at least when flying a home office desk (which is the only flying I've done!), I find that the the tilt-style seems to give me more fine control throughout the range-of-motion, but it is easier to maintain a particular displacement, especially for longer periods of time, with the swivel style.
