My "Drive A Tank" Video
Hey bruthas,
Like I mentioned earlier, my amazing bride Debie bought me a package at this place (www.driveatank.com) for a Christmas gift!
They are VERY busy this time of year, but we were able to FINALLY schedule a day (last Friday) to head down to Kasota, MN and "git 'er dun"!!!
They have TONS of tracked vehicles (and trucks, Humvees, etc), not to mention the guns you can shoot! On this day, there were about 20 of us in the group, so they split us in half. After a "fairly" boring :45 dissertation on how the tank came about, it's uses, and all the rules of what to do, and what NOT to do, our group set off for the range to shoot guns first (while the other group went out to drive tanks). Unfortunately, they don't allow you to take any pics/movies while the tank is in motion (unless you bring a "GoPro" type camera...and they have mounts already installed on the tanks for that), so we didn't get any vids of the actually driving.
I drove the British FV433 Abbot SPG (self propelled gun), and the British FV432 APC (armored personnel carrier). The American versions of these would be the Army M109A6 Paladin, and the M113 APC. They were totally cool, and surprisingly easy to drive (I drove the APC from the "buttoned up" position, using only the periscope and headphone commands from the "TC" [tank commander]). Lots of guns to shoot also! I shot the British Sten, the M4 Carbine, and the "big daddy"...the Browning M1919 .30 caliber machine gun (Deb shot this one also!)...way fun!
Here's the vid I put together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTRy75umCjg
(I already got a note from the morons at YT saying that the vid was banned in some countries because of the Stevie Ray Vaughan track....jeeeez. Sorry to those that can't watch the clip, but idiocy runs deep with them at times.... )

'murrica.
I'm jealous, most of all for firing the sten !!!!! My father is from a time where, as boy scouts, they could still find a stash of stens in the woods , wrapped in oily cloth and in working order :p Same went with exploring bunkers, they could still find a bunch of stuff.. I'm born too late ffs..
