I really like the improvements over the previous versions graphics and that of FSX, but I don't really know if the 'academic version' is good enough... I just want those graphics in an FSX world where I can fly my VRS Super Hornet off a carrier...

The academic version is basically what FSX is. The differences between the academic and the full blown professional version is how much hardware you can connect to the simulator with - typical use would be in RW simulators that airline and military pilots would use in a mock up flight deck with the actual instraments and computers one would use in the actual aircraft.

I do love the terrain in that Hitman. Is that "Good lookin Rooster" in that avatar really you ? Its always good to put a face to a voice. I pictured you different lol.
