So I couldn't stand it any longer. I bought the Mi-8 and I really like it so far. It sounds a lot more realistic than the stock Huey and it has dust flying up as I get close to the ground. I don't understand why they haven't emplemented that in the Huey yet? So if you're on the fence about getting it, I think it's a great addition.

Glad you're enjoying it. I'm still going to wait for the sale on this module. There's just too much stuff in the pipeline that I want more such as the Hawk and the Mig 21, along with the huey still providing me all my entertainment, I'm in no rush.

As far as the dust, I see it come of the ground when the Huey comes into land off the runway.

Really? I don't see it, so I wonder if I need to change a setting in options...

What's your graphic settings Pride? Full? I know you said you were dazzled by the evening sun, with HDR enabled, on one mission we flew together. So I'm guessing you need graphics set to high/full in order to see your own dust storm?`

p.s. I bought BS2 & A-10C in the last sale, so right now I'm working my way through the A-10C training missions. I too will wait for Mi-8 to drop A LOT.

Speaking of dust and snow I am going to start teaching dust & snow TTP's for those who are interested.  We have almost lost some aircraft due to brownout and whiteout.  I am also adding it to my list of task that I am sending to flyer for master wings.  In these pictures you can see we have the "increased dust trail" effect installed.  It can make for a more realistic and changeling landing

Six..I concur...I do believe that brown out and white conditions should be addressed...Based on some of your other maps I would like to talk with all instructors about night unaided, NVG, advanced tactical and possibly VOR/NDB navigation to be added to Master Wings.  We have a few pilot that will be nearing their Master wings soon.  I also want to speak with you about the new Ft. Rucker liveries (Created by Reaper) and how to implement them into our training.

I am far from being able to get my Master Wings so no worries there but all of that dust and smoke is sure gonna put my system to a hold, turning into a slide show. Not very advised when you are about to make a landing. I standard delete the smokecloud.pfx file to make sure I do not see any dust clouds. How would you work around this because I bet I am not alone in this?

We would do simulated brown/White outs...Same technics would hold true even without the effects. It's the same with IFR. In most IFR flights your actually in VFR conditions...you just have a hood. Our IFR scenario would probably be night time unless Six can come up with a mod that restricts vision to the main panel.

Someone once did a mod that adds scratches to the window, shouldn't be too difficult to black them out?
