S! from Pvt. Snacko!
Hi,
My friend GreyKnight told me about this Huey Squad so I thought that I would come check it out. We are both members of another squad that only flys IL2, so if we want to play other sims/games we have to look elsewhere usually..
I am in the USA, and can fly in the day or evenings as I am retired. I've been playing flight sims for probably 25+ years. (I still have my original Chuck Yeager's Air Combat box with 3.5 floppies and manual!)
I am guessing that I should just apply to join one of the groups? Can I join both Europe and US?
Thanks,
Snack

Hi Snacko, Because of your time zone, it's probably best to go to the User-groups link above and select North American and Captain Skullz, the company commander, will be along shortly to get you processed. You can fly with anyone you like in our organization. Your free to fly with both other company's any time you see them online. I'm also North American (A-Company) but flew most of today with B-Company out of Europe. I look forward to flying with you.

I assume that you guys do a full manual engine start, is this correct? I've done the training once, but have not practiced it. Will I need to know this to fly?
Thx,

Welcome Snako. I recommend to read, if it's not done, https://1stcavdiv.forumotion.net/t37-1stcavdiv-a-huey-fans-club-and-an-international-squadron(A/229) Snacko wrote:I assume that you guys do a full manual engine start, is this correct? No, it's not required. You can even fly with us without your wings. However, you have great opportunities here to learn, get training and practice. There are real helicopter pilots as IP, and our Chief IP "flyer", is a real Military Huey Pilot. There's also a section in the forum where you can find manuals, good thing to read.
We all started once. No worries.

Re: S! from Pvt. Snacko!
S! guys. Sorry I have not been around or involved much. I was able to fly one mission and did 'ok' until I shut off my engine while RTB! But I realized I need more practice landing, so I got to practicing. And then got side tracked trying to get some of my custom LUA export working. Had problems with that and did a complete uninstall and reinstall of DCS World. But I did get my LUA export working at least. Hope to fly with you soon (in a week or so?).

I posted in one of your posts about that I believe, but you did not respond.
What kind of data do you need for your logging?

Hi Snacko,
No, sorry I didn't want to ignore you or anything. I am just a bit in a lazy weekend right now, so please don't mind my slow responses .
In fact, I actually missed the post you made in my other thread. Sorry for that too!
I will send you a PM, I hope that's okay.
Best regards,
John

Yes, send me a PM with the data you want and what format you want it in and I'll take a look.
I got my old export working with Touchbuddy yesterday finally. It seems some things had changed in LUA maybe, since I last got it running with Flaming Cliffs 2.
