Halls effect sensor config assistance
A general shout out to anyone with experience configuring halls effect sensors, (attempting to repair/re-invent my anti-torque pedals).... Any assistance appreciated
(I'm grounded until I find a solution)

Not sure how to answer your question.
I built my collective using the following:

https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Honeywell/HRS100SSAB090/?qs=qefaKJG6iqKQceG1cC5A%2fg%3d%3d
After looking at these let me know if you have any questions.

Sorry to interrupt but so hall sensors wire up the same as pots?

Re: Halls effect sensor config assistance
It certainly depends on the device but usually they do.
Pots consist of a wiper that physically moves along the resistive element, thus can wear out or get "noisy."
Hall effect devices utilize a magnet and and a rotating pickup, thus there is no mechanical contact resulting in a cleaner output signal.

I was aware of the operation but was aware the magnet was built in I’ll have to look at the ones I purchased recently

many thanks for the replies
the almighty snark has been assisting me with lots of information and guidance
nudging me in the right direction at least (beating me stupid with a big stick)

Been distracted by real world shite
No progress beyond some CAD work

Anyone for some homebrew pedals?

based on bicycle cranks

A (checker-plate) base plate underneath to rest your heels on and cross strut closest to you provide heel stop to prevent any movement.
Pedals can be solid or rolling tubes to allow for easy rotation rolling the balls of your feet or toes, depending on how you fly.
I think these are simple, effective off the shelf / readily available components, with minimal manufacture required.
No toe brakes (not really intersted in designing them - huey doesnt have them.... therefore i dont need them)
Re: Halls effect sensor config assistance
Wrote out a long response and it disappeared... grrr Good design. Very much similar to mine. The toe brakes will be slightly more complicating do to where they'll be, on top of the pedals, but I'll be using them for fixed wing also.

Why you use that sensor and not just a b10k potensimeter?

Re: Halls effect sensor config assistance
Hall Effect sensors are not affected by ambient conditions, such as dust, humidity, and vibrations and are due to are insensitive to some ambient conditions based on the principle that these sensors display a constant flow of an electrical current making their characteristics constant over time.
Hall Effect sensors do not have contact with neighboring mechanical parts, making these sensors strong and sensitive enough to detect movement. These sensors do not wear over time thus maintain quality and unlimited use.

TLE5010
After speaking with the guys on mudspike forums, one of them pointed me to this little sensor
the TLE5010 magnetoresistive-angle-sensor which I got on https://www.aliexpress.com/item/TLE5010-digital-mode-magnetoresistive-angle-sensor/32634095245.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.2.211212fewpvebk&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_2_10065_10068_5723115_5910015_5723715_5890015_5723815_10696_5723215_5724015_5723415_10084_10083_5722215_5970015_10618_5724315_10307_5724215_5724115_5723315_5723615_5722315_10059_5723015_5722115_100031_5723915_5725015_10103_5725115_5980015_5724915_5990015_5722415,searchweb201603_54,ppcSwitch_5&algo_expid=57eeb87e-3ff9-42
as the name suggest - it allows for a single magnet, located on the pivoting axis/shaft
sensor sits directly overhead and detects the angular
no moving parts, no cogs no dual magnets and trying to align the the arc path of the halls sensor or magnets.....
