Hey everyone we are flying more often!
Tuesdays and Thursdays for training and impromptu missions. All welcome. Tonight we had at least 5 ships in the air at once and it was good to shake off the dust. Gizzy is doing a mission 1st and 3rd Thursday each month but we do have a session planned for Thursday this week so come on down and jump in a Huey.
It may be raining outside but it's warm and dry in the Caucauses fellas.
See you in the air!!
NOTE ... If you need help with the mods PM Gizzy for advice in advance.

Re: Hey everyone we are flying more often!
A good evening was had... Blade, Flubber, Gizzy, Mole, Stingray, Guinness... a variety of assaults, formation & gunship stuff, taking turns at lead and formation positions - a generally laid back pleasant fly-in... with plenty of craic... a good way to get back in the saddle .... thanks lads..
Stingray was doing well in formation assaults after a little bit of coaching and then medevac as we tried to deal with SIX's 3A with hidden manpads - rather unsuccessfully I must add..

Yeah! Thanks Gizzy, I had a really good time! Got to put some of my newly developed skills into action, loving the formation stuff. Good to meet Blade, Flubber Stingray and Guinness, and enjoy a great bit of down and dirty action in the Huey gunships and slicks.
What I am starting to enjoy now is how the training and practice is starting to pay off, in my eyes at least! Gizzy, I am sure you will aways think I'm a sh1t pilot. Just as long as I'm a constantly improving sh1t pilot, thats fine.

Great Sir...

Absolutely nothing could be further from the truth ... except you were asked to fly a class piece of civilised well designed and honed beautiful machinery in formation that some awkward person kept saying 'nearer' etc.. rather than the rugged (read pre loved agricultural) Mi-8 on a scenic 'watch the daisies grow tour' you're used to...
Your flying of the Huey is good sir... we'll do your WINGS award next week and get some wings on that signature block... and that'll carry over to the other mob...

It was a new experience really for me to be able to competently control my helo in a formation and team action, stay relatively in formation and land, drop troops, etc, and not make a complete dick of myself! Despite flying in DCS since forever, it is only since joining BSD and 229th, and benefitting from excellent training from yourself, that I have actually reached a level that I begin to really enjoy this sim on anything more than a kind of high-faluting SP video game. Still got a long way to go, but I think I am well on the way!

a tell tale tit - a crybaby tattletale
THAT incident was an expert extremely advanced manoeuvre in very adverse weather conditions that would have grounded even albatross's and they fly in hurricanes! In simpler terms I screwed up! Ha Ha

I have been trying flying in fog and low cloud in Normandy.... I now understand why sometimes it is important that flights be grounded.

To be fair, there was a lot of crashing that mission. I think we went through about 6 Mi8s and three UH-1Hs.

Ah, sorry... Thought you meant last night. You were talking about the foggy hillside?

Yes, I'm glad everyone is flying more. It is awesome to have people to fly with. Although, I came in at the tail end *cough* *cough* i was supposed to be studying for my math exam. However, it turned out to be much fun. Also, a great way to meet new people and get to know them. =)
