A snippet from an Argo mission.
At night.
In a storm.
At sea.
Zero Visibility.
With a slingload.
Oh my.

Sweet! Embarrassingly, I haven't made it this far yet, but I'm looking forward to testing my skills in this mission! Good work Flubber

The first time I forgot to use the radio menu to hook the cargo. The second time I dropped too fast and losr it in the sea. The third time, windows kicked me out of Vr and I crashed. So ny the end the flying at night was the easy bit!

Recently I changed the DCS preferences so that I am not immortal. Now, every time I die I have to restart the entire campaign...

I get upset when it happens, but I kind of like it this way for now. Until I get sick of the first missions, this is more realistic and makes the campaign playthrough last longer.

The only times I died was when the controls suddenly quit mid game or the windows kicking me out thing. So far I have not been killed or crashed due to my own flying but If I had to restart because of stupid computer reasons I would have given up by now. It's a shame the campaign does not accept that some objectives are incomplete and take you different paths though. For example, on the mission where you have to kill the motor team, the first attempt I had no idea where the motars were because the bearing given by the co-pilot was nothing like NW and I just could not find them (spotting infantry without labels at 3 miles away is pretty impossible). The second time I saw the smoke from them firing so I was lucky. You could get a bollocking from your CO and get another shit duty instead! Or request extra guidance on locating things. Some objectives are marked with smoke. Limitation of the DCS mission system I guess. STill mighty fun though.

Yeah I also went really far NW past the river looking for the mortar team. Also scoured the closest city, but you can't really see them in VR until you're literally 150m away...

I had to go look up a completed playthrough on YouTube to get an idea where I should be looking.

Also on that mission, it's a real bitch to
A) stay over the farp
B) kill all waves of enemies, and
C) not lose hydraulics or nav radios

It's like one of those "pick 2" triangles. If you follow the instructions to the letter, you're gonna have a bad time.
