I'm a 60 yo semi-retired Orthopedic Surgeon in southeast Connecticut with no aviation or military experience.
I became interested in simming when I was out of commission with a bad back. Lookin for something to pass the time, I began reading about the aerodynamics of rotary flight. Later stumbled on DCS Huey and have been hopelessly hooked ever since.
I've got reasonable control of her. No Multiplayer experience. Would love to learn more from "insiders".

Hiya Chic, one of the "head shed" will give you all the info you need, soon. Anyway welcome in, we have a few mature age blokes flying with us, me being one. Also take note that we are sort of in a limbo period of time because we are waiting for the advent of EDGE and the new DCS maps, so activity is at the moment a bit slow. Also being new to "Simming" can be a little bit of a learning curve, but we will talk you through it, its not that technical. Look forward to flying with you.

Hi Chic, Welcome to the 1st Cav Div. Click on "UserGroup" at the top of this page and select "A Company/229th (North American)." Then click on the provided link and download your assignment orders. This document contains all necessary information and links explaining the steps necessary to get set up with the 229th. You will be assigned to "A" company commanded by Capt. Showtime. I think you will enjoy flying with this great group of disciplined virtual pilots. I look forward to flying with you.
