Great Post. I just did my time in the Box last week. Hours of High, Hot and heavy flying with emergency procedures. I a lot of great lessons learned each year I go.
Also, for the first 5 minutes of your story I thought you almost crashed an airplane. Fool me once!

Yeah SIX, it seems that no matter how many times I take a spin through the box, I always learn something. You'd think that after 18 years on the same jet, you know about everything there is to know about it...but not so. I'm actually at a weird point in my career whereby I'm not intimidated by any of the instructors (hell, I'm senior to all of them), and I (almost) have fun now on checkrides.
I know....weird.
