Hello, public 1.2.15 is out. Is it safe to update ?

Star Force ProActive has recently implemented a deactivation option for DCS: MiG-21bis. In order to avoid an unneeded activation of previously activated module due to Start Force protection changes, please:
Deactivate the module
Exit DCS
Start DCS again
Activate the module after starting a MiG-21BIS mission

NOTE for Windows 8 users: It is possible that you will receive a warning notifying you that module can't write to registry after it activates. Confirm this notification and let the mission start. You won't get into the cockpit this time. Exit the mission and restart DCS. Load another MiG-21BIS mission: you should be in the cockpit this time.

Guys, I'm a bit puzzled by what I read. What is the right way to update and not lose an activation for the mig21?

So I have done this:

took away all mods with JSGME
uninstalled DCS
reinstalled DCS
put all mods back in with JSGME

the mods do not work anymore... ?

I have always been struggling with DCS but this is the worst of it all... why should the mods not work anymore is beyond me...

EDIT: I'm an idiot, didn't notice the new installer installed stuff into x:\DCS World\DCS World\ (creating another dir in my pre-existing directory... fixing this now)

EDIT2: which means I have to uninstall, delete the whole folder, re-install, re-update, and pray...

This is what I've done, and all went OK (sorry SPAS)
1-Remove all mods
2-Update
3-Run repair DCS
4-Tried mig21 in SP, all looks ok.
5-Reboot.

Yeah working fine after a thorough cleanup and reinstall... one thing I noticed, with DCS vanilla my FPS are around 60 in the Huey target practice mission, with all mods installed that drops in the 30-40... I need to investigate further, might actually remove the heftiest mods...

EDIT: I don't know why, but I suspect the culprit was the SoftTH d3d9.dll file, when I changed that with the one contianed in the 229th Combined effects mod 2.1 I've got my fps back... I'm looking at 60-80 fps now...

Let me check the mod ( I need to update it for the MiG 15 anyway ), but that dll shouldn't be in it at all...

Well I woud say it is in there because of SweetFX being in there, so effectively that is SweetFX's d3d9.dll

Ah, that makes more sense... I was getting hooked up on SoftTH

Which version did you replace it with exactly and I'll update the mod...

I did replace the .dll in the mod with the one from SoftTH... then "restored" the mod to its original state and everything was fine.
