the on-on-on switches are not hard to find, but very expencive ~25 euro each
I guess thats why i never found them, i always limit my searches to a few dollars for switches. Dont need high rated ones when they only have a few mA going through them

Re: Huey Collective
Sundog.
you might want to see this post. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2091247#post2091247 and the post directly before it. I havent tested it yet though.
This seems to be doing the same thing but in the controller LUA instead when using a LeoBod board and cant change the output code from the controller itself like I did with a Teensy
EDIT:
Ive just done a test with an On-Off situation that was giving me problems on a button box and it seems to work. no reason it shouldnt work with an On-Off-On.
Im going to write up the lua code and test it now for you. If it works Ill post it.

Re: Huey Collective
IT WORKS
okay here you go sundog
this needs to go in Mods\aircraft\Uh-1H\Input\UH-1H\joystick\default.lua right near the end at about line 661 just before the close bracket.
If you are using the 229th huey mod then its at about the same spot anywhere with Highways code mods.
Once this is done go into your control setup and you will see a new tab as part of huey sim called MODDED (sorry if you already know this from the 229th mod, just wanted to be clear)
set you up toggle to 'Landing light Extend / Stop' and your down toggle to 'Landing light Retract / Stop'
a bingo, should work a treat.
If you dont use JSGME to apply mods i highly recommend you do. seems updates every so often completely reset key assignments/code. this is a great way to back it up and also not completely break DCS when you are trying stuff.
Damo
ps A shout out needs to go to highway since it was his code that made me search for the right info to see how to do it properly.
okay here you go sundog
- Code:
-- Landing Light Extend/Retract ON-OFF-ON code (by Damien St Pierre (Frenchy), based on Highways work)
{down = device_commands.Button_7, up = device_commands.Button_7, cockpit_device_id = devices.NAVLIGHT_SYSTEM, value_down = 1.0, value_up = 0.0, name = _('Landing light Extend / Stop'), category = _('MODDED')},
{down = device_commands.Button_7, up = device_commands.Button_7, cockpit_device_id = devices.NAVLIGHT_SYSTEM, value_down = -1.0, value_up = 0.0, name = _('Landing light Retract / Stop'), category = _('MODDED')},

Re: Huey Collective
Thanks guys, really glad you like the look of it.
All up under $300 AUD (so like $50US haha), as you will see in my how to thread, springing for the nice items like the anodised button plates and 3D printed head pretty much doubled the cost. IF a few were done in bulk (5 minimum) could get it down near $200 AUD maybe. Im still making up a spreadsheet with everything in it

Hey Sundog. Im not sure what went wrong, glad you managed to fix it. Do you use the 229th huey mod that adds the modded controls section? if so does it work for you??

Re: Huey Collective
That's fantastic. I've got a Teensy 3.1, some arduinos, and various switches and stuff in anticipation of making one, but this is stellar and will be hard to top
I signed up to check out the how-to thread, but sadly registering still didn't give access to it

Re: Huey Collective
Thanks Frenchy, this has been on my to do list for years now.
I would like to get this built in the next month or so.
Right now I will sit on my hands to see if we can scrape up interest from 5 guys.
You can definitely expect a donation mate.

Re: Huey Collective
I found a pair of the pillow blocks on http://www.ebay.com/itm/371242302076, with free shipping, from China. I already have the Teensy.
Finding an aluminum shop around here might be an issue.
Also might be able to find cheaper laser etching from one of the chinese prototyping companies as well
edit: added the ebay item link.

Let us know if you do, it would be great for this to turn into a community project with some great source locations

Re: Huey Collective
This looks like it would have promise for the community. And Frenchy could make a few bucks off each one
https://www.ponoko.com/
edit: Maybe not for the 3D Printing. I uploaded the STL files to see what they'd cost and it was 120 for the main housing and 40 for the small upper. Still curious about the laser cutting/etching though. I'll see if they can process the PDF file.

Re: Huey Collective
What material did you choose for the 3d printed head units?
I checked Shapeways as well and the Strong/Black/Flexible was only $80, but I imagine too flexible.
And the black acrylic was $250. Ouch!

Hey Frenchy,
If you tweak the colors for their specs in the PDF it will give an estimate on the site for the faces:

Re: Huey Collective
I got mine done through 3d hubs. https://www.3dhubs.com/melbourne/hubs/3dprintingguycom Its a really great platform to use other "makers" printers nearby at just above cost price
cost me $50 total for both parts using the above gentleman, i selected the makerbot replicator 2, medium settings in PLA and it came out great. The final cost was about double the 3dhubs price estimate due to the nature of the parts (lots of support material used in the process that eventually just gets scrapped).
The only thing is wish I had specified is that the walls were solid or honeycomb internally (some bits had hollow walls that made it a little weak)

Ooooh! It was done on a makerbot? We have a Makerspace opening here on the 16th Maybe I can just buy a spool and print them up.

Hey, i designed it with the idea of using the shapeways strong and flexible initially. have a look here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hNa2_vvYzg at something with approx 2mm walls. Plenty strong and not flexible; its flexible when in thin strands. The 3d model has 2mm walls, you can get it in white strong & flexible and just paint it
