Sneaking into Laos
Thanks to Nucks great mission last night, and to Live, Aussi, Highway and Nuck- we snuck into Laos last night and dropped a SOG team, unfortunately we lost one chopper due to "environmental" conditions, we destroyed it before we ex-filled. We also lost visual with the remaining slick, although we found out the crew were later seen in a Bar in "Soi Cowboy" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soi_Cowboy ) and one particular pilot (someone who likes vibrating chairs, who shall remain anonymous) was talking to a "Katoy" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u95GVF_eGUc ) . The mission was a success with no casualties and the response will be if asked is that we cannot deny nor confirm if a operation was conducted in or over Laos.
These exciting pictures...... were taken somewhere over somewhere.....

Was a good flight indeed, enjoyed the countryside and the ride out there and even though there wasn't much action, it was great to just 'fly'!

Re: Sneaking into Laos
Wow guys....that looks like tons of fun! I love those SOG insert/exfil missions!
BTW, the last time I had a layover in Bangkok (Oct. '13), we did indeed make it over to the "Soi Cowboy" part of town. How do I phrase this? It was certainly a "this ain't Kansas Toto" experience! LOL... The F/O was interested in purchasing some "company" for the evening (he was a REAL piece of work...but that's a whole 'nother story), and I sat and played "is that a real woman or not" with one of the ladies that was at the bar (at least I'm fairly sure she was packing "God given" lady parts...). I would point out a (usually very stunning) girl, make my determination if it was real or fake, and she would tell me if'n I was correct (or not). I'm ashamed (or amazed....maybe frightened is the correct word) to say that I was wrong about 90% of the time.
Anway, looks like a cool mission...can't wait to give it a go!
Have a great day all!

Re: Sneaking into Laos
Yes BBall, Thailand and especially Bangkok is an exciting place, i first went there in the late 70's, we used to spend our leave there from Australia and our postings in Malaysia, Phuket was just a bunch of shacks on the beach at Patong and we used to stay at the original Expats Hotel, where you paid extra for a fan in the room. I could live like a King for $20 a day ! I could buy a bottle of Mekong Whiskey, a crate of Coca Cola and a bucket of ice for $5, plus get a great head and neck massage from a beautiful Thai girl while watching the Kick Boxing ring side.. And in another great place called Pattaya - south of Bangars in the Gulf of Siam. We also used to stay at the Hotel Malaysia in Bangkok for our usual Bangkok rituals. The Hotel Malaysia was where they made "Good Morning Vietnam". And Soy Cowboy , Patpong 1 and 2 and Nana Plaza were all must see places for the notorious Bars and "Tiger" shows. Thailand was a paradise that used to be exotic and you didnt see many European "white Trash" or arabs but now its sadly just another gimmicky resort style destination. Great memories.

"plus get a great head and neck massage from a beautiful Thai girl"
Placement of the letter "a" in the above statement is quite critical....
