Wanted to let you know that the well known vietnam mod for arma 2 has been released in it's 2.6 version. It's free if you have arma 2 + operation arrowhead.
There's a HUUUUGE amount of stuff packed in there, for a very good nam feeling.

I have ARMA II (OA) on steam...do you have to have it physically installed on your computer to get it??? I have the disk but it's not physically installed on my computer.

Yeah mate this is required and as you have a disk you will need to patch it up to date, read down the forum in the link Nef attached and you will be given directions.

or add the cd key in steam so you dont have to keep track of the cd anymore.

Now you basically have to use steam to play Arma 2 because gamespy stopped its activities. So you add your keys into steam (upper left corner, games, activate a product on steam.)
First activate arma 2, then arrowhead, then optionally any DLC you bought.

So you have arma 2 and operation arrowhead merged on steam and all is working as it should? Perfect! (if not, ask about that first )

Next step is to download unsung from here (I suggest):

*Note you will maybe have to install the "Mega" plugin to download the second file but that's not an issue.

Next, open a beer.

Once those 3 NZ Mega files are downloaded (one at the time is best) you cut paste them in one folder that you will create for the occasion. So you should have one folder that you created, with inside it 2 .bin files and 1 installer.exe file.
After that you just have launch the installer.exe, check its giving the right path to your "...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead" AND NOT FORGET TO TICK THE "CREATE A DESKTOP LAUNCHER" BOX. That is to cut short on headaches after.

Next, you will need 2 very small addons:

Community Base Addons

And IF YOU HAVEN'T BOUGHT THE ARMY OF CZECH REPUBLIC DLC you will MAYBE need this:

(Here I dont know, with steam this is MAYBE obsolete.. try without it first, if you have missing addons errors when starting the game, it might be therefore.)

You do not need to buy the DLC. You can use the LITE version (that was provided with the compatibility patch, my last download link) which allows you to use the content but with low textures, but that wont affect unsung's eye candy. But as I said it might be provided by steam when you merge A2 and Operation arrowhead.

Disregard last post...problem was explorer...you have to use Chrome or Firefox due to the DL size...I'm installing Unsung now but does the last "small" add-on go into the same Steam files that you showed previously??

Yep, little NVA campaign, worth trying it. and indeed you have to rename the "campaign" folder to "campaigns" dunno how such an error made it through

Hey NeF...got it installed and after multiple tries got it to almost work.  At first the start up screen was very slow and jerky but after multiple tries, that got a little better.  I can get into the game but I must be missing all kinds of files because I keep getting error messages (Now I see the trees moving and rain but no soldiers).

One reads "Missing file for csj_lowlands requires CAWater but I can't find a file named that.  Once I get into the game it reads "No entry 'bin\config.bin/cfgVehicles/USMC_Soldier.scope'.  There were a couple of other messages but I didn't write them down.  Any ideas...

My concern is that you dont have Arma 2 + operation arrowhead MERGED. When you merge those two you obtain what they call Combined Operations.
Please, start the game without addons using "arma2OA.exe" that you will find in
...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead
(BTW, and this is important, all you mod folders should be in THIS folder. So you should see @CBA_CO and @UNS inside there.)
Once the game is started I'd like you to check to bottom right corner that you are in v1.63 of the game and that you have your CBA version right below it. Just check those 2 things and report back plz. Btw to avoid spamming the forum too much maybe just give me your steam account name and I'll get in touch with you.

Hey NeF...Just check on the files that you listed and here is what I found:

After starting the game I see at the bottom right corner...Version 1.63.125548 and below that CBA v1.0.1.196

I looked into the path you provided and have @CBA_CO, @UNS, @UNS_ACE_compact and @CBA_CO_v1.0pre2

When I started the game I hade the slow stuttering of the opening page again

If you still have problems with missing addons when starting unsung I'd suggest you to try and double click the "_runA2CO.cmd" file in ...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead
Then restart steam and launch the game again.
If you still have problems I suggest we use the vocal chat option on steam or TS to solve it in order to avoid a forum meltdown
