For a while I have been using a simple free program called STICKIES.  It visualy based in yellow sticky notes the app has load of functions.

In RL you have real kneeboards, maps, notepads etc... this may compensate some.

I use it for start up lists when learning new airframes or procedures, operational orders and as a in flight notepad...  For me it is mor versatile than DCS kneeboard pics...

May be of use to you, may not.

This simple vid explains my use better, the screengrab uses 1 full monitor and the edge of a 2nd but the software will work no matter how many screens you have.
