Well, guys we've managed to survive 1 year and still have active members. That may not sound too special but with a group that concentrates on one module and the fact that we still lack a Vietnam map it's only logical that members would get bored and move on to other games. I have had my own bout with boredom but I still get the itch to fly the ol' Huey regularly. I have said this before and I'll reiterate, what makes the group is not the game, the module, the map, or the missions; what makes the group are the individuals who, collectively, are the group. Even if we didn't have the game I would still enjoy getting on Teamspeak and hanging out with you all. In the end that's what it's all about, just having a group of friends who share common interests. On that note, I would like to take a moment and thank all the members who have dedicated their time to the 229th. I want to give special thanks to the following members who were here in the early days of our existence and who got this group off the ground:

Blackjack for his vision and idea to create a group centered around the Huey. As far as I know we are the only one in the world.

Six, for his dedication to the group and his patient instruction and checkrides; he is always around and ready to help when needed. He has also constructed a training a map that we all enjoy.

Flyer. for his dedication to flight instruction and his invaluable real world knowledge of the Huey. He has also dedicated countless hours providing checkrides to our members.

FltMec, for his tireless work in getting our teamspeak up and running with permissions as well as his help with making missions.

Showtime for his dedication to duty as Capt of A Co.

Livebait for his dedication to duty as Capt of C Co.

Highway for his dedication to mods and mission making

Phantom for his dedication to making missions.

These are the guys that were around from the start but there are more, who have just joined in the last few months, who have given their time and who have been instrumental in making the 229th what it is.

We have been planning a weekend celebration for our anniversary and Capt Showtime will post the details concerning it shortly.

I salute you all for making this a great year. Let's all look forward to the next year! 

Happy birthday all!!! I learned a great deal with you guys and I've enjoyed every flight until now, shame we cannot meet and have an aweful lot of decent booze all together! Let this be the first of a whole swarm of birthdays, long live the virtual 1st Cav!!! 

229th, I salute you! Congratulations for putting up with us rotorheads for already one year. Time flies. More years to come, no doubt about that.
Staff, congratulations with what turned out to be a fantastic first year. Keep up the good work.

Thank you Col. Skullz, however you forgot one very important person...and that's you. You have been there since day one and have contributed a great deal of guidance and direction to this awesome organization. As a direct result of your leadership, we are what we are today.

I would also like to recognize all of the individuals mentioned above as being the best of the best. I have gained many friends from around the world and feel proud to know you all. I look forward to flying with each and every one of you in the future.

Congrats rotorheads !

Congratulations to all of us, I can honestly say I've never been a member of any online group with as much participation and acceptance as the 229th, we are all a credit to the group.

I can't think of a single member who hasn't contributed something, be it knowledge, training tools, missions, scripts, system performance tweaks, joystick profiles, it doesn't matter, we're all a part of the team.

May there be many more anniversaries to come.

I agree...I can't think of one member that does not contribute in some very important way...I have learned from all of you...thank you...

The 229th introduced me to a whole new world flying. Each and every member here has made it what is is, a fantastic group of guys that i love to fly with,  learn from, annoy or simply hang out with.
