Bartman requesting to join.
Hi all,
I've been around flight sims since Spitfire 40 way back in 1985 I think! I was a member of British Airways Virtual a few years ago flying on MS FS with a PMDG 737 but that got a bit boring after a while (too much autopilot!). I discovered DCS purely by chance through a friend at work and have been addicted ever since. I started with the A10-C which is an awesome sim, and being ex RAF (not aircrew...an aircraft engine technician) I understood most of the systems on the aircraft. Then along came the DCS winter sale and I bought the Huey. This is my first helicopter sim I've ever tried and I'm really enjoying it. I almost exclusively fly the Huey now both offline and mainly online and can be found most days on the VA server. I got back in the A10-C the other day just for fun, but much prefer the Huey and the challenge and satisfaction you get from flying it.
I'm now looking for a new challenge with the Huey, and was flying today with a couple of your members which is where I found out about the 229th, so here I am.
I'm.....deep breath......46! (do you have older members?!) married and with the wife's permission
can fly every weekend online. Just got to sort out TS first!

Hi Bartman...welcome to the 1st Cav Div. You will be assigned to "B" company based on your time zone. This will allow you to fly with the other members in your zone but feel free to fly with any other company member that you find on line. I am one of five instructor pilots in the organization and look forward to working with you and getting you up to speed with the way we do business. I am also the Battalion Executive Officer and if you have any question, please feel free to PM me. Your company commander will be along to get you sorted out shortly.
