Gary Hall Requesting to Join
-What is your experience with flight sims.
played a flight sim (knights of the sky) way back when i had an amiga 600 and i have been hooked ever since though its been quite a few years since i played one. I'm not a real pilot like most of you are but i was almost one :p i was in the air cadets waiting to be old enough to join the Royal Air Force and become a fighter pilot (Spitfire, Lancaster bomber, F15, Harrier jump jet are some of my favorite planes) but at 12 i was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy and as far as i know military jets dont have wheelchair access :p
-Your age.
I am 34 years old
-Where you live, preferably city and state but at least the state you're in
or country you are in.
I live in London, England
i found DCS world by chance in the steam christmas sale and always wanted to play a helicopter sim so i bought the MI-8 pack and plan on getting the Huey pack in a couple of weeks.
as stated i am not a pilot and i have not played a helicopter sim since super huey (if you can call that a sim) on the amiga so i will need A LOT of help. please only accept my application if you have the will and patience to teach a complete novice.
my experience with the mi-8 so far.
i first started and thought the throttle is what gave me lift so i didnt actually get off the ground for a while. now with a little help on the forums i can take off though not gracefully and fly around a bit untill i have to change direction then i crash horribly. i have yet to land with no flames. so this is what your getting your self into. accept at your own risk

Welcome Gary Hall!
First of all, not everyone here is a RW pilot, but EVERYONE here is a pilot (virtual or otherwise). IMHO, if you love flying machines, read about them, dream about them, talk about them, and take the time to learn to fly them in the virtual world...then you’re a pilot....period.
I’m sad to say that in the last 40 years, I’ve crewed many a cockpit with people who didn’t share the passion for flying that ALL of us here do. If you aske me, they were far less a pilot than those that I share the sky with in the virtual world.
You’ll find the folks here are wonderful. Knowledgeable to a fault (lol), helpful beyond compare, and most of all, they like to fly and have a good time.
Welcome to 229th!
