Hi All,

After a kind invite by McCoy (Jay43 over on the ED forums) to check out your group, I was pleasently surprised to find pretty much what I am looking for wrt an online bunch of guys to fly the new DCS Huey with!
I have a great respect for the chopper and the guys that flew them in Vietnam so am thrilled that you guys are focusing on that era...but not solely just the Huey based on your latest thread I just read. I have to admit i do enjoy a little fixed wing fun as I have many thousand hours in the F4 Falcon  several years ago, and lately a bit of time in the Warthog - looking forward to the F/A-18!  But they can't top my love for rotary wings thrashing the air into submission!

Little about me - I am 38 and joined the NZ Air Force in 94 as an aircraft tech - worked mainly on the Aermacchi MB339CB at 14 SQN before moving into the maintenance of Huey components for a while, worked on Seasprites at 6 SQN and also carried out depot level maint on Hueys as well. I took a break from the military for 6 years after gaining my CAA AMEL and worked on Hueys, MD500's and then big jets at AirNZ. After a small stint with a/c design and modification development at Bankstown in Aussie I re-enlisted in 07 as a Flight Engineer on the P-3K Orion, which I flew for 6 years only just last week making the move to manage our P-3K2 flight simulator here on base at Whenuapai, Auckland NZ.

So that's me - looking forward to flying with you all hopefully..and I leave you with a little vid made by our Huey drivers while they were bored in Timor

Good to have you apply to fly with us Vampire, im sure you can bring a bucket load of experience and keep us flying, anyway mate welcome in. I spose im a bit premature, but i think your foots in the door.

PS, i got to say i love the vid, i was shocked when i saw the "Sheep abuse" but i think it was smiling.........

Edit: - I guess I should have included my rotarywing sim experience too huh lol. I guess anything and everything since Longbow back in the day, like the Dodo 206 and other FS helis, and recently TOH (MD369 mostly), but heli sims have been so few and far between that I sorta just reckon for all intents and purposes....I am starting from scratch haha.  Was never really into the Russian choppers for some reason, so no Blackshark etc.
