Hey Canadianbaken, Welcome! Tell us a little more about yourself. I'm a huge Disney fan and go to Orlando at least once a year! If you haven't already, go to the Usergroups in the menu near the top of the page and request to join the North American Group. Once you do that I can accept you. You'll be assigned to the 229th AHB (North America Group).

Hi Canadianbaken...we flew together this afternoon...I thought because of you name, that you were Canadian. I'm from Orlando too (actually Windermere). I live in Cocoa Now. I look forward to flying with you and welcome to the organization.

Thanks Flyer. I was born in Toronto but moved to Leesburg when I was 8. Been in Florida ever since. Became a Citizen of the great old US of A 5 years ago. I have about 60 hours real flight time in a 1953 Piper Tri-pacer and have been flying sims since they started making them. I even freaked my father out once when we flew to GA when I took over doing all the Nav radios. He couldn't believe I learned how to use them from Microsoft's Flight Sim game.
Made a great purchase earlier this year with my Warthog HOTAS and my gaming friends have hated me since then cause I don't play as much anymore cause I'm flying all the time.

I've flown in and out of the Leesburg airport a few times. Nice view of Lake Apopka isn't it. Too bad you can't swim it. Congratulations on your citizenship. Some people consider simulators a game but I have to agree with you that you can get a feel for an aircraft from these "games". Knowing the UH-1 like I do...I believe each one of you who can cold start the DCS Huey, can start a real UH-1 with little training. I've always thought that flying sims (especially DCS products) give you a heads up on a new pilot. You might not be able to actually fly the aircraft on the first try but I certainly feel that you could fly it in very short time with some instructor training.
