Greetings and salutations to all;

I have 8000+ hours in flight sims (hard to believe I know but I sat down and calculated it out for this post.) Most of those hours have been using Microsoft Flight Simulator, Falcon series, Gunship series  and countless others through the years. If a new sim came out, I tried it. (I wish I had all the $ spent on those that didn’t turn out to be worth it)

Ever since my young days I have been fascinated with helicopters and would watch anything that dealt with them. From TV shows like ‘Whirlybirds’, ‘240 Robert’ and ‘Airwolf’ or movies like ‘Paradise Hawaiian Style’ , ‘Birds of Prey’  , ‘Blue Thunder’ to name a few.

Some years ago I tried DCS, but I’ve never really been a Fighter Jet Jock (which is strange since my father-in-law was one of the designers of the F-16 cockpit). I came back to DCS because of Belsimtek’s released of the UH-1H , (which I think is fantastic by the way). And even though I don’t have a simpit for yet I’m loving it just the same. I’m waiting for the final version so I can build a simpit for it (which I hope is soon because I’ve already dismantled my flight sim pit and I’m already going through withdraw).

A little about me, I’m a 58 (geez I don’t feel or act that old, well young at heart) retired LEO, living in the Great Republic of TEXAS. I’m a ‘simaholic’, as if you couldn’t already tell that, and since the Huey came out I’ve been looking for a group who shared the love of helo’s when I came across your site when it was mentioned in a post on the DCS Forums. I’m looking forward to the fun of group flight with you guys.

Hi Reaper...Welcome to the 1st  Cavalry Division (Virtual).  You have definitely found the right group.  We are all like minded individuals who love the UH-1H Huey.  We have a lot of fun learning the systems and flight characteristics of this great helicopter and tactics flown in Vietnam.  

I am the battalion standards instructor pilot and a real world UH-1H driver with 16 years experience as an aviation Warrant Officer.  The company/Battalion has three additional instructors and if you have any questions concerning the battalion or training, please don't hesitate to find me or any of the other IP'S on our Team Speak server.  You can generally find one of us on any weekend night and some week nights.  The other IP's are Shek, GunfighterSix and Flyingfrog, all can be identified by their IP icons on Team Speak.  I look forward to flying with you.
