WOC Candidate
Hey 1st Cav,
I'm currently loving the Huey in VR and would like to fly with an organized group, and 1st Cav looks good to me. IRL I fly a Citation XL professionally and have about 40 hours in Robinson Helicopters. I'm a former Army Vet and always wanted to go WOC and fly but a childhood illness prevented me from getting a military flight med (BS!). I figure this is the next best thing. I live in Chicago and fly mostly during the daytime. My work schedule is all over the place but when I'm home I'm generally online. Hopefully I'll get to fly with you all very soon.

Hi Five-O and welcome. I’m quite new here as well and have found the guys really friendly and SUPER helpful. One of the instructors will be along shortly to get you started. Look forward to having a fly with you soon and “Sorry" for crashing into you.... might as well get that out of the way now as it’s only a matter of time with my skill level.. "or lack there of"...!

Re: WOC Candidate
Hi Five-O and welcome, I experienced the same BS I am ex British Army I was an Avionics Tech and was selected to go Army Pilot, nailed the flying grading was solo Weds afternoon when everyone else went solo Friday or ran out of time and were binned. Unfortunately, I have astigmatism in my left eye and the Ministry of Defence Drs would not pass my medical, as it effects PNVG flying! So all my flying gear handed in and back to the squadron lines to fix the cabs. I'm now enjoying the opportunity of flying in VR and I'm making up for a lost opportunity in VR. These guys are awesome here and a number are operational combat pilots, commercial pilots or have a lot of experience flying DCS. I've found there is a lot of spirit and enthusiasm here and you can progress as far as you want to. See you around buddy. LATEO

Hi Five-O, welcome to the 229th! I'll put you in A company. If you can please go to your profile and change your callsign to (A/229) Five-O, then that is the username you will use to login to this forum.
I could do that too if you want, but I won't unless you ask, to avoid confusion with login credentials.

Re: WOC Candidate
Thanks everybody. I'm working on getting everything setup. Is there a modlist somewhere so that I can get into the server? I haven't gotten into adding mods or anything to DCS so if anybody can help a brother out with that, I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome Five-O to the 229th,
you made a great Choice to pick this Squadron. I´m former German Army (Medic) as well. Since my childhood flying is an obsession and DCS made it possible to live a dream. I´m in VR as well. I´m looking forward to fly with you if possible. Cya in the Air.
