I've got my sister and her family staying that weekend (6 of us in a 2 bed flat!), so I very much doubt I'll be able to make it. Small chance I will be able to join later in the evening, but unlikely (or so late you will all be smoking campfires littering landscape).

A few details on the operation to give you an idea of what to expect.
B company slicks to embark troops at a beach a few miles over the border. The troops, Seal team six will be dropped by submarine synchronized with our departure from Batumi airbase.
D company will provide force protection with either gazelle or huey gunship/s
Bravo will insert Seal team six at an lz to take out a high value target.
Full details will be available in an Intel pack ASAP

As is known my Internet is next to useless at the moment so unless there is an exodus of millions from the coast back to Madrid unfortunately I will be just sitting on the side....

Re: Flight Ops B Company Saturday 20th August 18.00 GMT
Due to a bad back and 6 new guests arriving I will have to fudge the Intel package.
On Tuesday of this week a drone we had working the border was blown off course by a few degrees and picked up an encampment for a few minutes before we lost contact. We suspect a SAM was the reason.
The Intel people have been studying the footage we received before the drone went offline
They believe one of the men in the footage is a high ranking Chechen warlord wanted in many countries including America for crimes against humanity and several terrorist attacks on USA citizens. There are up to 20 tangos in and around the compound which has Sanger s at each corner mounting 7.62 mg's. All tangos armed with ak's and rpg's
Seal team six is tasked with capturing or killing the Chechen and destroying the compound.
Bandit flight will provide the lift and extraction
Viper flight will cover bandit and provide CAS for ST6
Flight planning should route all aircraft out over the ocean and turn in when level with PUZ to keep the element of surprise.

Just a technical question: should DCS be patched up to the very latest? Which SimpleRadio version to use?

I hope you enjoyed it mate, did they strip you and tie you to a streetlight? What where the strippers like. We need some details.
RE the mission, it has promise and I hope we can rerun it but be ready for mission start. we goofed about waiting and setting things up so started an hour late, that put us at the objective in pitch dark, only illuminated by SAM's streaking past and flares pumping out.
Hope to fly with you soon mate
PS when is the wedding?

Re: Flight Ops B Company Saturday 20th August 18.00 GMT
Hay Cib,
I really enjoyed NVG operations (the "real life tube" mod, not the stock all green imitation), it was the more challenging. In mountaneous terrain even at daylight ADI is your best friend going in for landing in a valley, low light and the NVG kind of tunnel vision made me really sweat it through... looking forward to the next attempt...
However I admit, I dunno which I had choosen if I had the option Razor had beside the Huey mission...

Re: Flight Ops B Company Saturday 20th August 18.00 GMT
I suggest a rerun of this mission next Thursday. 18.30 GMT all welcome. We can try to get organised before mission start this time to save all the night time flying.
Same rules regarding SOP, mods and SR apply
Anyone interested please sign up. Also I am happy for folk to take gunner seat in the Gazelle remember to take NVG's
Hope to see a good turnout. WOC's this is a good opportunity to get some Company missions under your belt to enable you to join in Battalion Ops
