Good day all,

I want to apologize for my absence over the past 12 months. I have been insanely busy with flying, newborn and traveling therefore I have had almost no time to sit down and enjoy some DCS with the 229th.

I finally had a chance to sit down for 2 nights in a row and try out a new mod that I had seen in a Youtube video that popped into my feed. It isn't a military operation but it is definitely a good learning tool for those who are interested in external loads. I have been testing the different "rope" (Long line) lengths in game. 100 is normally the shortest I use in RL but in game it lacks depth perception. 50 was generally the longest you would want to use in game before you start losing depth perception of how high off the ground your load is (Besides glancing at the radar altimeter).

Here is a video that I made. I admit that I pretty much based it on the one that The Smoking Cook made a couple of days ago. I could not get the mouse to track smoothly when I was following the helicopter in some scenes, apologies for that.

I am going to be busy for the next month to 2 months at a minimum but I am hoping for things to slow down a bit so I can get back online with you guys and continue to help Flyer and Six with training.

The first video is the one that I created over 2 nights, the second is from The Smoking Cook. I personally find the best part of the videos is the sounds that Skullz produced over the past couple of years. They absolutely transform the game to an entirely new level. Thanks for the excellent work Skullz.

I can usually receive PM's when I am in reception at night or early morning (Or also on weather days) if anyone has any questions
