Hi there,

34 year old Marine Corps vet from Indiana.  Was an Aviation Radio Repairman stationed in NC and Japan.  Worked on one of the pieces of equipment that is in the Huey (KY-58 Crypto System, not modeled in DCS).  20 years of flight sim experience, primarily civilian fixed wing (FS4 - FSX) and X-plane 10.  Also have experience in the Jane's series, as well as falcon 4.0.  I'm realizing that this helicopter thing is the biggest flight sim challenge that I've ever encountered, and when I tame the beast for a proper descent to hover it's also the one of the most rewarding, because it rarely works out the way I want it to.  I'm quite excited and looking forward to learning how to properly pilot and accomplish missions in the Huey, and also taking on my first multi-player flight sim experience!

Yep, that was it. To do an encrypted radio check you would say something like "This is Dagger, in the green, radio check, how copy, over."

Good times. Smile Except listening to encrypted HF radio transmissions...sounds a bit like aliens underwater, speaking jibberish-English. Novel and interesting at first, until you realize how much you have to concentrate to try and make out what is said.

Unencrypted you would declare "in the red."
