Wavehopper requesting to join
- I have been playing flight sims for the the best part of 20+ years (if you can think of one, chances are I've played it)
- 36 years young
- I am from Reading in the UK.
I've flown a lot of virtual aircraft, but the Huey is the most fun, and most demanding I've ever used. I love it, and it would be great to fly with others. So far I've only logged about 50 hours in it, but I'm getting more confident with the machine.
Ideally I would rather fly slicks than gunships as that's where I have logged most of my hours.
The only issue is that I currently don't own a mic, I take it this will be essential?

Re: Wavehopper requesting to join
Good Morning Mr. Wavehopper. Welcome to 1st Cav. One of the command staff will handle your application and help get you oriented. To my knowledge a working mic is not an absolute requirement however I think you will find that having a functioning mic will definitely enhance your flight sim experience. This will become readily apparent during missions and greatly assist in your communication between you and other pilots of 1st Cav.
Looking forward to flying with you sir!

Thank you sir!
I'll look at picking a mic up in the week. I have a condenser mic, but I think I'll need something a bit more suitable for voice comms.
I look forward to flying with you.

Welcome Wavehopper, il just reiterate that a Head set / mic IS required, its really the thread that holds us together - communications. So welcome and look forward to flying with you.

Re: Wavehopper requesting to join
Welcome to the 229th Wavehopper. As strut mentioned above, a functional mic is required but won't stop you orientation from proceeding. I think you'll appreciate communicating with this great bunch of guys, so having a mic will definitely benefit your experience here. I will send you a welcome letter that explains how to get set up for the 229th so watch your PM.

Re: Wavehopper requesting to join
Hi guys. Can someone have a look at my membership details and/or assignment.
I signed up a while ago but have been unable to do anything since recently. The contact I was given to report to hasn't logged on in months so I'm stuck in limbo.
I'd like to get on the training server and practice for my first check ride but I don't have passwords or anything like that.
Edit- I now have a mic and access to the groups teamspeak.
Regards,
Wavehopper

Re: Wavehopper requesting to join
Hi Wavehopper...
Servers on 1.5 and 2 open beta.
The password should have been sent to you in your welcome letter... if not PM me and I will help you out.
Teamspeak is 216.239.235.156:9984. Connect and you will be in the open lobby. An admin normally will be on every day / evening and will sort your permissions out. In the meantime if some one else is on just 'kick' them and ask to be dragged in.
Your virtual Company Commander is now (B/229) Razorback - PM him, he logs on frequently.
It is best to get some MODS installed - heres a link https://1stcavdiv.forumotion.net/f31-mods
Your Company directory is here...https://1stcavdiv.forumotion.net/f6-b-company-229th-assault-helicopter-battalion-europe
If you do not have access to these links post back so an Admin can sort that.
Hope this helps

Please do NOT use 216.239.235.156:9984 for TeamSpeak. Use ts.229ahb.com:9984. Thanks.
