SPAS Requesting to Join
Hello everybody,
I have been an inactive member for quite a while, did join in 2013 (I think) but then life kind of took over... Well I am back.
I am Italian, living in the UK, with a PPL(H) and an insane passion for simming. I have started with FSX and the Dodosim 206 and then moved on X-Plane, on which I own and fly practically every payware helicopter, mainly enjoying flying FSEconomy assignments in VATSIM. I also coded most of the RealTerraHaze addon for that sim.
I run DCS on a Intel i5 4960k @4.8 GHz, 16 Gb RAM @ 2133 and a Geforce 780 with 6Gb VRAM (that's because I have a triple monitor setup) so everything is normally quite smooth, I have great hopes for the EDGE, whenever that comes out.
Controllers are custom-made, Komodosim B206 controls (Version 1, with the aluminum boxes) which I have had for a couple of years now and which I find amazing.
Plus a homemade headtracking system (FreeTrackNoIR and delanclip / 3 led cap) which now works wonders with the ED open API.
I am hoping to sort out a solution to have UH-1 gauges on a networked PC, but have not been successful so far.
DCS-Huey was quite unwelcoming to me, especially in the beta stages where I did find the flight model to be a little to "squirrely". Things have improved a lot and I am now in the mood (and hopefully have the time) to enjoy this tremendous hobby with some friends. So let's get on and fly a bit. I am completely blank on DCS multiplayer...

WELCOME SPAS!!!
As you know, great group of folks here! A terrific mixture of fun and (at times) serious flying, run by some of the best guys in the flight sim world. Incredible mission makers, amazing mods, and a good mixture of personalities.
One question...
After reading about all your kit, I have to ask what the "wife unit" spends her share of the money on...diamonds?
(wow...nice setup)
See ya in the virtual skies!

Re: SPAS Requesting to Join
The "wife unit" is actually a great saver. I'm the spender in the family! I would be broke if it wasn't for her.
And now a couple of questions (which I'm going to search as soon as I post this)
1) What about the group's teamspeak??
2) that 1stCavDiv tag before my name comes from the initial times... shall I remove it while I wait to be assigned to a Squadron?

Welcome back Spas, the teamspeak details are :
Address: 174.36.16.73:9083 no PW
I would safely assume that you would probably get a European designation so your "Tag" will be (B/229). And soon one of the "headshed" blokes will welcome you in with directions .
